Recommendations for a new integrated amp for Vandersteen 3a speakers I would vote for the Musical Fidelity as I know it pairs well with Vandersteen speakers. If you can find an M6 at that price, excellent as they tend to sell used for a bit above that. The M5 at 150w would work and I am sure that you could get to...
All in One Integrated Amp or dac streamer plus amp - around 5k to 6k USD Have have you looked at the Musical Fidelity Encore line. The software is MUCH better than when it launched. The M6s Encore Connect is $4500. It is a nice unit and MFs amp profile will fit your taste.Of your list above, I am a big fan of Simaud...
Need Integrated Amp with Moving Coil Input I am assuming the Mark Levinson 585.5 is out of your budget range. if someone has one that is used, they are typically in the $10K range. Great amp and great phono stage. If you can make this fit your budge it would be my first choice. For th...
Looking for A Cost Effective Phono Amp- Any suggestions?" Musical Fidelity offers a brilliant value. You could simply pick the nicest unit from MF that fits your budget. Not sure what your budget is but the M6 is...spectacular.if your budget is lower, Vincent makes a couple units in the $300-$500 range...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load I believe the Rogue Hydra and Medusa are stable to 2 ohms. I have the Hydra and it is a great amp.
Impact of phase inversion by preamp I have found that when the phase is inverted that bass will sound hollow or will be missing a bit. Some speakers seem to be more impacted by this than others. I can definitely hear a difference in mine.
VTL amplifier Tube brand I own a pair of MB-185 mono blocks that I am currently selling that I bought used with Tung-Sols. They sound fabulous. I am not sure if that was the original tube but they are a good match.
Phono Pre Advice A hair above your budget but the Musical Fidelity NuVista Vinyl is spectacular. Full sound, a hair warm and brilliant with Ortofon cartridges though it is $3700. I would be using this unit with my Cadenza Blue if I wasn’t the importer for Art Au...
How much discount typically for a new MC275 to expect from a dealer? I know a dealer who is willing to haggle a bit on McIntosh gear but that was for one of the turntables and in a scenario where they were going to take off the stock cartridge and I was looking at a $10K pair of speakers. They were willing to give...
Help with picking new integrated for under 3k For the money, Rogue is spectacular. Check out the Hydra. You can get them used for ~$1800. I have had one for years and it is what I use in space constrained areas. It runs cooler than you can believe and no one would ever guess it is a Class...
Raidho D1.1 is now a Legacy speaker Not at $25k a pair.
Imported audio are you getting the same level of performance vs domestic priced equip? @wildfoxinn The Pulsar may be an example but there are many examples and I would not suggest zeroing in on one. I have done a lot of research on speaker pricing and now know what goes into each box. My plan is not to list off my competitors th...
Bookshelf Bake Off In that price range, of the ones you laid out I would look a the Monior Audio Golds as they will deliver a warm sound. The others will be neutral to a little forward. A couple years ago I auditioned every product in this price range that you hav...
Spendor D7 I was wrong...it is not a dealer in NH, it is a Studio for Legacy. I know the guys you are talking about in NJ. For a stretch, the whole NY Metro area didn't have a legacy dealer. At least they picked up one. I have two very distinct speakers,...
Your favorite Small Apartment Speakers I would check out the Monitor Audio Platinum 100s. Tons of detail and good for rock and metal music. Good bass response as well with a rating of +/- 6 dB at 40hz. They need to be driven by a neutral to slightly forward amplifier. There are fou... |
