KEF Reference 3 or Raidho X2?
I have not seen an issue with a sagging tweeter.  The first I had ever heard of this was in another thread.
KEF Reference 3 or Raidho X2?
These are very different speakers in terms of power requirements, room requirement, sound profile and soundstage presentation. Kef is a classic "cone and dome" speaker.  The image is presented to you as if the performance is in front of you.  Raid...
Curious.....
I have never heard the Nyquist or Brinkmans and cannot comment. The dCS and MSB I am quite familiar with and they are opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of sound.  I suspect your system will sound very different with either of those.  What do y...
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend
@axeis1  I don't think I mentioned that I did test the filters.  Chord is the brand I am most familiar with so I tested them quickly in this setup but found I liked it best with the filters off.  This is not a particularly bright setup and I find ...

Hugo 2 vs. the internal DAC card on the AVM Evolution A5.2 Integrated.  At first I thought this was an unfair comparison.  A $2500 DAC/ headphone amp vs. an $800 card.  Take away the headphone amp and battery and the Hugo 2 is basically a Qutest. ...
change from wilson benesch p3.0 to magico s5 mk1
Agree with Mijostyn. WBs are not bass heavy speakers to start with and are very linear. Magico is similar. I would use the Seismic’s for music at least but more/bigger subs would be better. That will give you the increased bass you are looking for.
Rear ported speakers?
A rear port does not inherently mean a speaker can't be placed near a wall.  Generally, speakers with long ports are pretty good near wall.  And you can't assume sealed of front ported speakers will be good.  I can show you speakers that are front...
REL vs JL AUDIO
Between those two, I prefer JL.  My new favorite though is Perlisten.  I think they make a better sub than both as the DSP is best on market that I am aware of.
How long is it taking to receive a preamp?
You have three choices then. 1. Find a different dealer who has better terms on the preamp you selected (may not be possible if manufacturer driven). 2. Buy used if you can find one3. Select a different preamp with more favorable terms
How long is it taking to receive a preamp?
Depends on the dealer and the product.  For me it is driven by what I have to pay, when I have to pay it and what flexibility I have to cancel.  If it is a product where I pay nothing till it ships, I can cancel anytime prior to production, or is ...
What's a real upgrade from LuminT2
With the Lumin, specifically what would you like to improve?  Are you looking for improved clarity, better soundstage/imaging?  What is the shortcoming?  There is a fair amount of compromise at that level. An "upgrade" could be a lateral shift to s...
How long is it taking to receive a preamp?
Demand is high and parts are scarce.  It always depends on the brand and how lucky/unlucky you are but know transformers and semiconductors have been miserable to source.

@georgehifi.  Not an intentional omission.  Thanks for catching.@jjss49 i very much want to know your thoughts on this.  Thank you for sharing.

@georghifi.  I thought I mentioned that the Vu Jade was an R2R.  Definitely a goodsounding unit.@treebeard1  the M3 will be a noticeable step up and will have similar musicality as the PS Audio.  It feels like a natural step forward.  @milpai the ...

PS Audio DSD is in and tested.  This is by far the oldest tech tested and in the end, it is very obvious why this unit is well liked.  The tonal profile is flat.  Not bright, not warm.  Not lean.  Not bloated.  What it lacks is detail and a deep c...
