Matching preamp to amp
Gunbei, I'm not a Rowland owner and I'm basing this on a recollection of an old review, so please take this accordingly. I believe that Rowland believes(d) in matching output to input impedance as a form of power transfer. Maybe some Krell fans ca...
Where do tubes matter most???
Generally speaking I think that tubes usually impart their characteristics most in amplifiers, and depending on their load it may or may not be for the best of technological reasons. There may be some particular tube amps that are exceptions. Whil...
Worst remote nomination...
The absolute worst remote in my limted experience is the one that comes with the Arcam DV-88. Identical tiny buttons with tiny letters, non standard icons, layout and functions. A fairly expensive DVD player with a remote thats not backlit for use...
Matching preamp to amp
While the guidelines above are generaly true, some manufacturers such as Rowland have different philosphies about impedance and "power matching".

Considering thiel 3.6 but need feedback
According to Thiel, ideally you should be have the speakers about 3 feet from the back wall, 5 feet from the side walls, 10 feet between each other and 10 feet from the listening position. Also, acording to Thiel, as little as 1 foot from the rear...
kef 104/2 or Thiel 2.3
I prefer Thiels, but respect Kef. If you like Kef you might like Vandersteen.

Physical explanation of amp's break in?
I could be wrong ,but, I think some Sony TV's are made in the U.S.A.. Some business practices commonly associated with Japan are actually the result of American minds. I think that Sean is right about break in. Loudspeakers often sound quite awfu...
Do you own the last amp you'll ever buy?
Probably not.
Spica TC-50 Owners What amp do you like w/ TC-50?
I'm not a Spica owner. That said, may I suggest a Forte 4a.
