CD Redbook versus DVD Audio

Thanks to all, and especially you Stan!
c-j technical questions
Mcmiller, I also have a pair of CS 2's which I used a c-j MF 80 on. Worked great! Not to beat a dead horse, but, it's the 3.5's equalizer that concerns me. Though the 3.5's are 2 db more sensitive than the 2's, the 2's unequalized impdeance at 5/6...
Beware Sony CDs on your PCs
Does anyone know when this evil deed became effective?
Did I make a mistake buying Krell?
Well, IMHO Krell has made significant changes in their products over the years and now makes so many products for so many different markets that I don't think a "krell" sound exists. That said, the Krell may be overkill for 99 to 101 db speakers.
Buying Used-Ever wonder???
Haven't you bought something brand new, and wondered what all the "hype is about"?
A brutal review of the Wilson Maxx
My biases tend to run parallel to RH's. That's probably why I don't subscribe. What's the point of hearing your own echo. That said, I 've enjoyed the dynamic capabilities of Watt/Puppies driven by Krells playing big band jazz immensely. Manufactu...
c-j technical questions
Chuck, Thiel rates the 3.5's as having a 4 Ohm nominal, 4 Ohm minimal load. I have seen two independent tests that both show this to be pretty accurate. Both tests show a slight peak at about 33 Hz where the impedance rises to between 8 and 10 Ohm...
c-j technical questions
Hi Chuck, Thiel 3.5's. These speakers are 89db at 1 watt/meter and a use an active equalizer with an in-put impdeance of 91 KOhms and an out-put impdeance of 130 Ohms (RCA's only) that draws up to 12 db of boost below 70Hz. Thiel recommends betwee...
c-j technical questions
Actually, I have contacted c-j. Yes they they are pretty good, but, they seem to have a policy of not providing specific power out-put of their solid state amps other than into 8 Ohm loads. Well, I have a pretty demanding steady 4 Ohm load. What's...
order of improving sound quality in system?
Abaseballfan 1, I think your on the right track. My suggestion would be to (1)st consider your real world budget, (2)nd your audio room and how long it's likely to be your audio room (power outlets, equipment racks, placement, seating postion and ...
Mint Condition, Doesn't Anyone Know What It Means
I like the ads that claim the item for sale is "minty". I'm not sure if they're describing to the aroma or the flavor.
WOW,, way to go Alice
Stanhifi's comment begs the question; should we support the experienced musician or the novice musician? Perhaps, we should question the criterion?
DVD player with outstanding qualities for CD play?

OHM Speakers
You may want to check the archives. A most respected Audigoner has gone into some detail on the differences in past Walsh Ohm's and current Ohms.
