I need advice on a good value for speakers
IMHO, the best value by far would be used stock Thiel 3.5's. They can be had for well below your max price, and out perform speakers that cost many times that max price. The only caveat is that to make them really sing, you'll probably need to tak...

Why are HD downloads so expensive?
I think they're overpriced, but I'm glad they're there. I suspect I would buy more, and spend more, if they were cheaper. As they're priced, they compete with more other things for my disposable income.
Which is more accurate: digital or vinyl?
As I have said before, I have yet to hear a consistent superiority of one format over the other.
Best new 70" to 80" display
The Sharp "Elite" has recently garnered very high praise from those that regularly review and/or calibrate such devices, a rather novel result for an LCD. Of course such results come at a premium price, and value didn't seem to be a consideration.
Live Performances Gone Awry
Entope, I could be mistaken, but, I thought Pavarotti was booed for forgetting the lyrics. You might want to read Frank Zappa's book where he goes into some detail about suing the LSO for unprofessionalism.

Can I "double-wire" speakers?
As it pertains to this discusion, I would consider it a one input integrated. In that case Popehetor's post makes some sense, though I still think Rrog's post makes sense. Cross-overs will still allow these different amps to overlap somewhat. Jugg...
Can I "double-wire" speakers?
Is the Sophia Electric a power amplifier or an integrated amplifier?
Can I "double-wire" speakers?
Bass is an integral part of music, that's why we think we need it.
Can I "double-wire" speakers?
...Or find out what the gain of the Onkyo and Sophia Electric is. Though there are exceptions, I think Rrog's advice is sound.
Can I "double-wire" speakers?
I doubt that both amplication sources will have the same gain.
Can a "pushed in" dome tweeter + midrange be savev
Or...it might shrink up and withdraw.
