Frogman, that works really well on tweeters, but you might need one of these http://www.rankopedia.com/Famous-Person-Most-Known-for-a-Large-Mouth/Step1/23504/.htm to help with bigger drivers. 
From high end digital to beginners analog?
IMHO, digital provides better value, and the extra money would better be spent elsewhere.

I'd bet the cardboard tube will still work. If not, I'm sure one could figure out a clever modification for the carboard tube.

Gently place one end of a cardboard tube from a paper towel roll around the dome, the other end around your lips, and suck. Works like a charm. Better than pins perforating your domes, high powered vacuums detaching voice coils, or left tape resid... 
What happens to an amp below 2 ohms?
The benefits that some speakers that have low impedance's provide, outweigh the disadvantages of that low impedance. Buy the speakers you like best, then buy an appropriate amp.

From what I understand Pioneer is just licensing the "Elite" name to Sharp. I would be cautious before assuming that the new sharp "Elite" LCD's will be on par with Pioneer's old "Elite" plasmas.

Herman, as I understand it: soundstage refers to total width, height and depth imaging refers to individual placement and scale within the soundstage, left to right, front to back, top to bottom.
