Why don't you like Mageplanar speakers? ...But, I do like Magnepan speakers, but, I like a few (and I do mean a few) other speakers more.
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm http://www.atma-sphere.com/
krellpower1 I agree that room/speaker interface it the most important consideration. On the other hand I am of the opinion that the amplifier speaker interface is the next most important consideration.
What are your general thoughts of B&W speakers Not my cup of tea.
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm Choose your speakers, then the appropriate amplification.
Budget vacuum tube preamp? There is more to system matching than just deciding to drop in a tube pre with a ss amp. What constitutes a "budget" to you? What is the input impedance of the ss amp? What is the sensitivity of the ss amp? Other than HT bypass, what other inputs,...
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm Atmasphere to this day I consider the sounds I've heard emanating from Thiel CS 5's in appropriate rooms with their 2 Ohm load amongst the finest I've ever heard. Now, I didn't actually measure the output of the various amps that were being used o...
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm If the first Watt doesn't suck, why stop?
Does OTL pre-amplifier exist? I believe it's true for all of them.

Suggested midrange fix for Thiel 2.2 speakers? Can Thiel rebuild them for you?
Does OTL pre-amplifier exist? I'll take a risky guess here and assume you mean direct coupled tube line stages?: Sonic Frontiers.
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm Remember the impedance, most us don't know what size room the OP has. There are other very fine speakers that work best with an abundance of available power too. Furthermore, there are a lot amplifiers available to choose from that can fulfill the...
full range single speaker IME, "full range single speaker"(s) are better in theory than in practice.
Home stereo equalizer I'm more inclined towards the digital room correction philosophy, but the Cello and Accuphase eq's seem to be well respected. Unless your willing to spend bucks on a good one, I tend to think your better off without one, than settling on a cheap one. |
