I've been gifted a pair of Thiel CS2s
I ran the same speakers for many years, in various rooms. Your room is too small. Perhaps something like Thiel's SCS's might work.
Upgrade Hafler 9500 or Mccormack DNA-1 for Thiels
I've heard them all with the Thiel 3.5's, but honestly don't remember the sound of the Hafler with them. To my ears the c-j worked best. The McCormack, while a perfectly lovely amp with other speakers (Vandersteens!) were too forward and shouty to...
Modern amp that has warmth and sound of B&K?
The McCormack amps are wonderful amps, and terrific values, but IME they sound very different sound than the B&K ST 140, and each might be better used with different speakers.
Should I fix my plasma?
As a general guide, the best values tend to be at the lowest end of a manufacturers best line of panels/series. Don't discount the value of extra size. While one very often hears buyers complaining that they wish they went bigger, one rarely hears...

Frequency Response
Please consider that the frequency response should be accommodated by the room in which they will be placed in.
Modern amp that has warmth and sound of B&K?
Many moons ago I used an ST140, and went to a conrad-johnson ss amp, the c-j was similar in many ways, but better in all.

Kenneythekey, suggests a very good point. You might want to stick with a company that has earned the reputation for good customer service and appears to have the legs to continue. Thiel is nonpareil in this regard. I use even older 3.5's, and woul...
Should I fix my plasma?
I'd hazard a guess that going new might make more sense in the long run.

I understand just fine, I just suggest that whenever anyone hears anyone selling with that line, they pause and consider all the potential motives that might be in play (including the sincere ones).

IME, Richard Vandersteen has always seemed to be a straight shooter, but saying; things I currently sell are better than things I no longer sell, and things I currently sell for more are better than what I currently sell for less, is cause for pau...
