High Sensitivity Speakers that work best with SS
Most often perhaps, but even if peak power is only required say 10% of the time, that power requirement could be 10's if not 100's or even 1000's of X the typical amount of power used. Without such power, the system would be in distortion mode say...

NVP, I would suspect that an amp working close to it's maximum capabilities might not necessarily perform optimally. Many high powered amps are biased at the low end towards Class A shifting towards Class AB as the power needs increase, avoiding t...

NVP, with all due respect, subsequent Watts don't compromise the previous Watt. While one might argue that matching output devices require more effort, the benefits that extra power capabilities offer in an effort to avoid proximity to clipping is...
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers
If you could set them up about 12' apart from center of tweeter to center of tweeter, about 2' from the long wall behind them, that would be even better. Do remember to toe them in. It appears you might be in the ball park after all. To avoid comb...
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers
The measurement is from ear to speaker, not from ear to center of the triangle baseline. You can have the listening position directly in front of the opposing wall, if, and only if you have an appropriate amount of absorptive material directly beh...

4-6' forget it, you need at least 8' and preferably more for proper driver integration.
Tricky Room Geometry Question
I think Plato's suggestion is spot on. Perhaps you might consider trading the 2.4's for Thiels MCS, as they are easier to place and might be more appropriate for your room volume. Thiels smaller sub might work well here too.
Best reasonably priced classic hi-end tuner
What is "reasonably priced" to you?
High Sensitivity Speakers that work best with SS
I think it worth repeating; that is easier to achieve a flatter impedance curve with less efficient speakers than with more efficient speakers. I suspect the biggest concern for matching ss amps with speakers that are typically used with tubes, is...
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers
Don't forget some thick absorptive material behind the listening position when setting up along the the long wall.
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers
Please forgive me for offering this very obvious friendly advice; proper setup is needed to really let the Dunlavy's demonstrate all that they're capable of.
And now for something completely different:
When I clicked "Preview first" the hyper-link worked, some how the post "Submit as-is" click didn't seem to actuate the hyper-link to the post.
D'Agostino Momentum amp melts down
FWIW, I think this thread is appropriate, but also think some of the words chosen are hyperbolic.
D'Agostino Momentum amp melts down
At a proposed price of $55K(!) and knowing full well what it was potentially going to be subjected to, I think it's test results are disappointing.
