Salk Song 3A or Song 3 BeAT?
The 9.5 has a much more complex cabinet, and an adjustable open-backed midrange. Also: Jim is sometimes open to one-off custom designs.  I've toyed myself with the idea of the BeAt's midrange installed into the Encore cabinet.
Salk Song 3A or Song 3 BeAT?
This is why the 9.5 model is interesting.  Uses the BeAT tweeter and midrange, combined with the Encore woofer supplemented with passive radiators.
Salk VS Monitor Audio
The Song3 BeATs go remarkably low for the size of the woofer.  Performance in your room will depend on a variety of factors.  Of course, the Encore's go deeper with the bigger woofer (same manufacturer), but I like the midrange more in the BeATs.I...

Classical Music for Aficionados
Just got the Bolet/Schubert song transcriptions.  The recommendation was right on.  The playing is splendid, and liltingly lyrical. I'm so involved the music that I'm barely listening to the sound...
This Schitt is totally refreshing in the world of high end audio!
The Salks were Song 3-BeAT, which are exceptional speakers for the price.  I heard them at CAF.
Faint hum....
Yes, if it's only a question of which input is selected, even if no component is attached to that input, then it obviously sounds as if the problem is internal to the amp, especially as digital input is quiet.  Hum on any/all of the line-level ana...

Graphite for shelves, loudspeaker cases?
Carbon graphite is surely different from carbon fiber.BDR were mixed with resin; Boston Audio seals a pure block (cylinder).
