Looking to get the best out of Redbook Cd listening with Dac a d Transport under 5K?
There are lots and lots of highly recommended DACs in the $1500 to $2500 range.  Sample a few of the recent threads.  Then add a Cambridge or Audiolab transport and you're done.OR...……….Just get the Marantz SA-KI Ruby and be done.  (See the review...
Single output at amp, tri wire at speaker. Any benefit?
First try running the main cables to different terminals on the back of the speaker, with the jumpers adjusted accordingly.  You may find a difference with using the tweeter vs midrange vs woofer input as the one that directly receives the signal ...

Here's one final Liszt recommendation: Geoffrey Tozer, Liszt Piano Transcriptions [just about everything/everyone other than the set of Schubert transcriptions] on Chandos.  Very natural, good piano sound, and some fine pianism.  Tozer is mainly a...

The Modern DAC killed High Resolution Music - has Stereophile proven it?
Apple and Spotify are being left behind in the hi-res sweepstakes.  So something is going on in the industry.
Wide baffle speakers are better than narrow

Stephen Hough, first Liszt recital (not the Italian one), starts with Mephisto Waltz and continues with Tarantella.  One wonders how anyone can move their fingers this fast, and yet also in a clean, precise, controlled and highly expressive fashio...
