Spatial Audio open baffle speakers, who has them? Worthwhile change from Maggies?
There's a fairly extensive discussion of spikes, floor isolation, etc. for Spatial speakers over on Audio Circle.  Also discussion of placement in room.
Speakers that can reveal orchestral instruments' positions
Yes, it depends much more on the quality of the recording than on the capabilities of the speaker (though that obviously too is a factor).  I have an extensive collection of classical CDs, and through the same system the soundstaging sounds anythi...
Classical Music for Aficionados
Finishing up my complete Chopin survey on a high note (no pun intended).  The complete (2 CDs) Nocturnes, with Garrick Ohlsson.  I'm a sucker for his wonderful rubato.  To me, this is how Chopin should sound.
New Omega E Mat from Perfect Path Technologies
Corollary of the placebo effect: any change=better.
If I have good local shops available, should I restrict my purchasing?
What if there aren't any local stores?

There are many DC blockers available, at different price points.  PS Audio used to make a popular one, occasionally available used.  Audio by Van Alstine, Emotiva, and Isotek all have models.

Chemically Altered Audio
I stick my mats in the tumble dryer, 20 minutes on high setting.  When they come out they're twice as effective.
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
Those Wilsons are simply irrelevant.  True innovation with speaker design is taking place many places, but always far from Provo.
Thinking about swapping out my Class D SDS-470C for a pair of Schiit Aegir on Magnepan LRS
George's theme song is the one-note samba.  You may wish to take some other more diverse points of view into consideration.
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
When solid state-generated watts became cheap, speaker designers started to care less and less about the impedance of the models they were creating.  Kind of a corollary of the law of supply and demand.
