How often do you demagnitize your MC cartridge?
I've never done it.
Turntable Power Source Benefits
The motor is not separated from the platter. It is connected to the platter by the belt. Vibrations, and motor variations can be transmitted via the belt to the platter. Anything that will allow the motor to operate smoother, and with less vibrati...
Verdier Platine turntable?
The first thing to do is to make sure it is a real one. There have been reports of counterfeit Verdier La Platine turntables going around.
Denon 103? Shure V15? AT OC9? guidance
Not the DL103. The arm is not really up to it. Either of the others will work well.
Cartridge Recommendation for Audio Note Turntable
Okay, I have used all the cartridges that you mention above, on the Rega tonearms. The Dynavector and Audio Note(Goldring 1042) are high output MC, and easy to use in any phono section, and will work well in the arm. The Denon is slightly too stif...
Audiopoints or Walker tuning kit under a turntable
I use the Audiopoints under my TT. I like them. I have not tried the Walker tuning kit.
SPeakers 90% of your sound
Rives, I live in east Tennessee. Don't worry, I've heard quite a few good rooms. I've been in audio as a consumer and on the other side of the counter for over 30 years now. Thanks for your interest, though. I do recognize what a good room can do ...
How do you get past the pops and hiss of LPs?
I guess that I just listen to the music. If you want to make a big issue out of a few clicks, and destroy the musical experience for yourself, then that is your right. At least, on an LP, the music is there to begin with. Is the experience of list...
3K to 4K Phono Pre-Amp
Used Aesthetix IO or used Manley Steelhead.
SPeakers 90% of your sound
I guess I must've been lucky, because during the 80s, I moved around alot, and had my nice system set up in about 10 different apartments over that time. Somehow my nice audio system always sounded good, no matter what shape or size the room was, ...
Stax amplifiers....experiences
I used a DA-80 for awhile, that belonged to the shop I worked at. It was a very good solid state amplifier, and it ran hotter than blazes! Fry an egg on top, no problem! With the age of that amp, and the heat it endured while it was on, it is very...
Best Cartridge for VPI Aries orig + JMW 10.5 ?
It has come to my attention that there are some new optional "outriggers" that have become available for the JMW tonearms. Apparently, this is Harry's "fix" for helping the tonearm to handle low compliance cartridges. If you are planning on using ...
And now, back to my missing channel problem. . .
Switch the left and right channels at the back of the cartridge. Be really careful this time! :^)If the problem switches channels, then it's the cartridge. If not, it's in the tonearm wiring.

You're in for a big shock. If you like the speakers now, wait until you get some real information-packed signal into them.
Best Cartridge for VPI Aries orig + JMW 10.5 ?
I would agree with the dog and pick up truck statement. Unfortunately, the JMW arm is not in the high-mass category. Oh, it might be high-mass compared to a Black Widow tonearm, but not in the broader sense. An arm(JMW) that is around 11 grams eff...
