where are all the posts/reviews about Prana, Philharmonic and others?
Salk shows up at events, they had three sets of speakers at AXPONA.  Daedalus was in at least two rooms.  Prana was in one.  Dennis Murphy who runs Philharmonic has been at Capital Audio Fest and some of the other shows in the past, but he's essen...
DynAudio Contour 60 vs Paradigm Persona 7F
Hmm, I've heard a few people here mention they've found Paradigm speakers bright, but I've always found them nicely resolving yet neutral, probably closest to Revel when it comes to sound signature.  Focal and Goldenear on the other hand, yikes, t...
most advanced speaker in a rectangular wooden box?
I'd say the JBL M2.  You do need the special-sauce Crown DSP amps (or a BSS processor with the appropriate EQ curves), but with the special waveguide and the DSP it has an almost perfectly flat frequency response throughout its range not only on-a...
Missing the Old Days
The JTRs can do refinement, here's a video of the baby JTR towers, and, yes, I know, you're not going to get the full effect via YouTube played on computer speakers, but you can still hear the 'live-ness' and detail of the sound.  https://www.yout...
Missing the Old Days
Check out the JTR 215RT.  Feed them with a couple kilowatts and they’ll crack your foundation.
Shipping heavy speakers
I've used Uship.com in the past.  It allows you to create a quote for what you'd like shipped, lets you pick the level of service you want (up to and including white-glove treatment) and then lets shippers bid on it, including letting you read rev...
LS-50 Speakers (Passive)
I'm pretty sure the passive LS50s were the original version, and the wireless came afterwards.  The wireless are supposed to be better, which makes sense as the designers could incorporate DSP and match amplifiers to the drivers.I've only demoed t...
Power amp/integrated amp suggestions for SUPER POWER HUNGRY/INEFFICIENT SPEAKERS
Another option is something from Van Alstine.  The Synergy 200 comes in under $1,000.https://avahifi.com/collections/power-amplifiers/products/synergy-200-amplifier
Power amp/integrated amp suggestions for SUPER POWER HUNGRY/INEFFICIENT SPEAKERS
If I remember correctly from your previous thread you have a fairly small room that these are going to go into, correct?  You're not going to need monster power to drive them to loud listening levels, even with their middling sensitivity. If you l...
Any Paradigm Persona 3f and GoldenEar Reference comparisons?
I haven't heard the reference, but did demo the Triton Ones.  Other than the extremely powerful bass output I wasn't very impressed - harsh treble and recessed midrange, it was all overly aggressive highs and bass.   The Paradigm Prestige 95Fs I d...
Just confused about where to start
The new Yamaha integrated amp is worth checking out.  It has bass management and YPAO room correction, plus more wattage than the Elac Element I mentioned upthread.  https://www.soundandvision.com/content/yamaha’s-new-21-channel-receiver-boasts-yp...
Just confused about where to start
Snell made some great speakers back in the day.  They also took the time to match drivers and even hand-tune crossovers for every pair to account for any variance in the drivers so that the speakers matched as much as possible.
Sub-Woofer?
Even for music, the T5 and T Zero don't really have the extension to cover the the audible frequency range for a lot of musical content.
Just confused about where to start
I kind of surprised you liked the Motion 15s considering the sound signature you mentioned upthread, I found the ML Motion series to be unpleasantly bright, but it could've been set up poorly in the BB when I demoed them, there's a ton of variatio...
Just confused about where to start
The nice thing about headphones is that they take the room out of the equation. For speakers the room, furnishings, treatments (if any), and positioning can make a big difference. Is this a dedicated listening space or are going to be practical co...
