| Roon Upsampling - DSD vs. PCM heh Erik, I use a LuminT2 fed by a server running Roon. I tried upsampling to DSD512 for a month or so....it was ok but I'm back to straight PCM play through Qobuz. The sound is more balanced IMO. | |
| Tube Rolling Titus, 6550 power tubes, correct? It's always a good idea to have a spare set on hand...you never know. So, try some new 6550s and see if you can hear a difference and like it. Tubes take a little burn in time, IMO these are probably "settled in"... | |

| Are tubes really “warm”? It all depends on the type of tube and it's implementation as you surely know. Warm to me means mid to upper bass emphasis or "dark" An EL34 can sound "warm" Tube sound to me means natural tone and body; two things I really like. | |
| Audioquest or Kimber kable. have you considered Triode Wire Labs "American" series? 30 day free trial. These are the best I've ever used and I've owned Nordost, MIT and some other brands. Really good tone, detail and sound staging. IMO, super at any price. | |

| Anyone been able to compare the SQ of Roon Nucleus vs. MacBook Air? I went another route. Using a Small Green Computer I5 as a Roon server. Sound quality is fine and no dropouts. My Lumin is the Roon endpoint. | |
