To Bi or not to Bi? That is the question
Thanks for all of the comments. I certainly have some experimentation ahead of me. I've thought about an active crossover but am trying to keep this simple as possible. In the end, however, that may be the route to go to get the best performance f...
To Bi or not to Bi? That is the question
Thanks for the responses. I guess the first step is to get hold of some good cable. I am running AQ Argent+ which I will use for the tops and am thinking AQ Midnight for the bass. That still leaves me with my quest to find high quality Y adaptors....
Sony SCD-C555ES good for redbook?
Thanks, Bufus! I look forward to your follow-up after in runs in for a while. Tony
Any Pink Floyd Fans out there ???
Haoleb, you need to get "Wish You Were Here". Awesome recording and great music to boot! It will fit in well with your other Floyd recordings. BTW: The Division Bell and Momentary Lapse of Reason, both post RW, are good albums as well!
Sony SCD-C555ES good for redbook?
Thanks for the website link. It was amusicdirect.com. Now a whole new dilemma. SACD releases outnumber DVD-A by almost 2:1. Unfortunately, I just wrote down the SACD titles I would want to own and there's only 7. For kicks, I wrote down the DVD-A ...
Sony SCD-C555ES good for redbook?
Thanks for the feedback. I'm considering taking the plunge into SACD but also would like a better sound from CD. I currently use a Pioneer DVD/LD as a transport with an Audio Alchemy DTI-PRO32 and a Parasound DAC1000 (20 bit Burr Brown PCM63(?) ch...
DVD vs. LD visually.
Keep them both. There is no reason not to keep the LD player is there? I have found I own several films that aren't on DVD yet including many concerts, like Pink Floyd. To answer the question you posed, DVD does beat LD for picture quality. Sound ...
Movie Software make HT a Waste of Resources?
Why are more than 50% of the posts on this thread by you, Nanderson? In fact, every time someone responds you have a couple of follow-ups that espouse the same positions. Anti-Bush, anti-corporate anything, anti-Hollywood, anti-Enron ( which is un...
calling all audiophiles
Panamax 1000+. Great for surge protection, it has a $1M warranty for equipment plugged into it. It is one of the few surge protector/line conditioners I have heard that does not "change" the sound (for better or worse). My 2 cents. Tony
Movie Software make HT a Waste of Resources?
Having a background in film, there are many reasons films are made. Film is nothing more than the medium in which a particular message is sent, just like the internet is a medium for you to espouse your opinions or direct people to the www.fair.or...
Perpetual Technologies P3A DAC
Thanks Photon and Platmatt. I had always been a fan of Audio Alchemy and that's probably why I am mentally leaning toward the Perpetual Technologies equipment. My problem was just the lack of a unit to audition! If I get the chance to audition the...
Perpetual Technologies P3A DAC
Thanks for the feedback. Would either of you be in the Dallas, TX area?
Need help with DTI-PRO 32
Joe b,I've had this unit less than 24 hours and have only been able to listen for an hour - and most of that time was spent scrolling through the "color combination" to determine what sounded the best. After "summitgnp" gave me the directions (THA...

Anyone know where you can buy the "AD" revision chip?
