Inexpensive integrated to drive Klipsch
The Onix SP-3 might be worth considering.
passive vs. electronic passover
I agree with Bob Reynolds. When adding a subwoofer system,it is easy enough to position the them for phasing.Removing passives in an already full-range speaker system is another thing all together. The problem being that a passive crossover can adju...

You might try Audio Magus. They sell the City Pulse 7.2X DAC with TXCO clock upgrade. The units sell for $369.I heard one at a friends' and was impressed enough to take one for a spin.It easily bested some others that ran into the $8-900 range.Hope ...

Deep Cleaning Records With Steam?
As I understand it,this steam-cleaner should be kept 6" away from the LP.There are two additives you can use-one for basic cleaning and another for deep cleaning/grundge removal.Mapleshade MSRP is $150,they will add a maple box for the Xmas versio...

Tube amps
I do apologize,I gave a readers' digest condenced reply. The Vac is a far superior design to any of the posters' options. That said, there are issues with the other options that I did not want to delve into.If VAC/Dennis Hadd had felt that it was a l...
Tube amps
Of the original options, the PL gear would be the first choice.A VAC Ren series amp is a good match and has adjustable feedback,so damping of the woofer can be controlled.
Tympani IVa amping
You will need power. These were originally designed around the ARC line of products.
Bypass caps
A "bypass " cap should never exceed 10% of the value of the original cap.Changing a bypass for a small cap from .01Uf to 750Pf can change the perceived "brightness>>too bright, then step down to the smaller. In a capacitor set-up(cap w/bypass)...

the dreaded breaking of tonearm wire...now what?
If you are going to rewire ,I suggest a 24ga or greater solid core wire> 30-35ga would be best/sliver?
Could use some help, please
Parts-Express.com (800-338-0531) has a system that was designed for 5.1HT use.My thought is that you look at the SC5.1 speaker. The drivers are Hi-Vi and they are on special ($18/tweeters/$38/woofers-price per pair and $32/2-2 way Xovers.Cabinet re...
