Ethics: To what degree? If I understand what you posted. The dealer offered a 10% discount and was allowed to use the piece for auditions.I would press this dealer for support in this matter, unless they have also concluded business with said manufacture.

Ethics: To what degree? Had similar problem with the original Gamut,Not Gamut USA-the new company formed. My CD-1 malfunctioned, was repaired/rebuilt and dies about 10 months later.I was informed by the repairer that the specified Sony parts used for the repair and supplie...
the dreaded breaking of tonearm wire...now what? Is there enough wire to re-solder the clip back on to the original tonearm lead?
Componets first, cables second? It may appear that Blindjim may not be blind after all.
Unhappy with tubes so which transistor amp? The CFs and ARC designs are on opposite ends of the spectrum. It would be easier to switch to SS from an ARC,than from CJ.IMHO.In addition to the fore mentioned products,i will also give a nod to the Pass X or XA series.
Unhappy with tubes so which transistor amp? Latest Belles or Symphonic Line RG-1 MKIII should give you some of that tube magic and be less problematic
Watt/Puppies with SET or push-pull??? Have heard this combo with the VAC Ren series, they make a good match.Push-pull is required for the amp to drive the puppys.I like the cosmetics of the MKIII VAC,as opposed to the earlier WWF badge look IMO.
Long or short wall It might be easier if you gave the demensions of your room. From the VSA pic,I would say that the speaker is too close to the side-wall(3 feet minimum). But if putting them on the long-wall doesn't give you 7.5-8 feet from the front-plane of the spe...
The great myth of the XlR Having been and still am, a big Omega Mikro fan. They will not built their cables with XLRs.They say they have not found an XLR up to their sonic requirements. But,wouldn't you know that my new phono section operates better with XLRs and so I have h...

Materialism or Idealism is hope alive? And Request You must realise that you can simulate a "live" performance, but you can't totally reproduce it.As technological as we are,it doesn't appear as though we can think outside the box.One needs a certain level of gratitude for what one is able to accom...
Componets first, cables second? Attacks seem to be more interesting than trying to come up with a direct answer or opinion.Mariaplunge-sorry your thread had to go in this direction.Maybe some of these posters can exchange phone numbers and keep this out of the forums, and save so...
Small Room. Go for it or forget about it? Bob,did Sugarbrie answer most of your questions? This situation would be best served by a two-way design.Though squaring the number of drivers can still allow for a two-way to move large amounts of air in the low-freqs.Though it then becomes a lin...
Componets first, cables second? It is very seldom that the cables cost as much,or more than the component. There are exceptions.Though I must admit that the cables I use are not cheap, but as I down-graded I kept the original cables.I guess it may depend on whether you are on the ... |
