AC captive cords??? Eldartford,It's important to note that the bills must be the older, 'uncolored' versions. The dyes in the newer bills increase dielectric absorption, and will result in significant coloration in the upper to upper-upper googlehertz region. Of cour...
SHUNYATA power cords price increase LOL, Sorry Grant, my comment wasn't aimed at you. After all, you're just doing what Shunyata pays you to do. I was commenting more on the venom that sprays whenever you dare express an opinion about someone's favorite brand. We audiophiles can be ...
SHUNYATA power cords price increase I've learned my lesson. There's only one acceptable opinion when it comes to all things Shunyata: "Worth it at ten times the price"And now I'll step aside and let the sacred cow pass...
Matching digital input impedance of dac with cable Newogger,To answer one of your questions, I have recently auditioned the Audioquest Eagle Eye with 72V DBS, and it is very, very, good. But definitely on the revealing side of neutral, so I'm not sure if it's the answer, given your problem with ed...
Matching digital input impedance of dac with cable Newogger, yes, there's a difference in the way the digital data packets are arranged, which doesn't have any effects on audio performance that I'm aware of. Plus the 110 ohm connection is balanced, which should offer an advantage, but then you hav...
Long Speaker Cables with Tube Amps? Bass Response Anacrusis, if you're using SR cables, I doubt you have anything to worry about, since they are pretty evenly balanced both from a sonic standpoint, and electrically.
Matching digital input impedance of dac with cable It's about reflections within the 'transmission line' of the cable. These reflections can occur at any junction in the connection (connectors, solder joints etc,), but in this case we're concerned with the junctions we can control, the connector j...
Oyaide outlets Just a couple of thoughts about the Oyaide's (the outlets and the connectors), they can indeed be 'too much of a good thing', specifically if your system is already very highly tuned and refined. And cryoing can exacerbate this effect. The reason ...
Warm sounding cables for STAX setup I can't suggest anything better than the Hero in your stated price range, so that might be the right choice. I would strongly suggest you be very careful in changing power cords, as it could move you away from your stated goal of added warmth. Wha...
Power Cord for Ayre CX-7e ???? F1, I'd say your dealer is steering you right, although I'm not a big fan of the Richard Gray conditioners, or most others. I've heard some terrific systems that don't incorporate any in-line power conditioners (including one of my own systems). T...
what digital cables for my dac? Tobias, sorry, I think you're over-thinking my use of the word 'belief'. In this case, it was used in it's broader sense to mean something a person accepts as truth, regardless of source or experience. You believe it because you've experienced it,...
what digital cables for my dac? I know the use of a longer length seems counterintuitive to those of us who are used to "shorter is better". Shorter _is_ better, for analog cables.Go to http://www.empiricalaudio.com. Scroll down to the link "Paper on S/PDIF cable length in PSOnl...
short cable length: does cable "quality" matter? LOL.The DBT bandit strikes again...
short cable length: does cable "quality" matter? Given that most high-end speakers can be such a 'tricky' load to drive, I'd say quality does matter. That does not mean that you have to spend the equivalent of a used car to get it. Years ago, I had the experience of speaker wire that could liter...
Best low cost speaker cables for my system? Just an FYI, the Q10 is actually just slightly heavier than 10 gauge, assuming the 12 and 14 awg runs are accurately sized. Should be about the same as adding another run of 20 gauge as well. Not that you probably cared ;) |
