Is Vinyl Worth It
So, it's okay to say vinyl beats digital but it's ludicrous to say digital beats vinyl?
Is Vinyl Worth It
I like the sound as an alternative/change of pace but I don't like the extra procedural "work" involved. So I don't listen to my LP's as often as CDs or tuner.
On the draining of resonance.....
Schubert, are you saying I should still be listening to my 1967 Magnavox all-in-one turntable/IA/speaker system?
Favorite BB King album?
I agree with Mapman. I like 3 old LP's I have and a 4-CD anthology, but a CD I had (someone ran off with it) that contained Live at the Regal AND live at Cook County Jail was killer.
Headphone Distortion?
Check out reviews and discussions and head-fi.orgNot as solid and reliable as audiogon, IMO, but if you look you can find people with good ears and discriminating taste.

Glenn Campbell - new found respect
Arnettpartners, it's a matter of style--bluegrass players use capos frequently, but jazz/big band players don't use them at all (ordinarily).
Glenn Campbell - new found respect
Monster guitarist Tommy Emmanuel reads neither standard notation or tablature, which I find remarkable.

Glenn Campbell - new found respect
Reading in the studio depends on where you are--Nashville has its own notational system which doesn't require reading standard musical notation. But Glenn was in California, I think, which would have required standard notation. He might have gotte...
Glenn Campbell - new found respect
I saw Glenn Campbell live in '68 (Hemisfair, San Antonio) and he was an amazing talent. And, he was a Beach Boy for a while (early sub for Brian), which gets him extra points in my book.
Rolling Stones Tour 2015
Beatles were a great live band early on. They quit playing live as they became more "pop" and less rock and roll-oriented. I think the early Beatles could hold their own against the early Stones live. Stones are naturally bluesier, Beatles more po...

"unprecedented quality...Beatles came close"I'm reminded of a mural-like cartoon titled "Tragical History Tour" in an old National Lampoon mag. One part of it shows John Lennon standing with his hands on his hips saying "Mick always f***ing imitat...
Daryls House - some great takes on familar songs
Actually, Notec, some of us "morbidly thin" could use a butt implant.
