Are there headphones that image in front of you rather than in your head?
bdp24,I also own a pair of Stax Lambda Signatures that I drive with a Stax SRM- T1S. They get less use now as I'm trying to break in my 009's. I don't think you can beat Stax for headphone sound. Obviously, that's just my opinion (formed over the ...

For fun, take a look at a vintage pair of AKG 1000 headphones. They are difficult to find these days and the sellers seem to think they are worth their weight in gold.
Schitt Audio Still in business???
Too bad! If I ever go into the business of manufacturing audio equipment, I'll have to avoid using the household names Yggy, Gungnir and Wyrd. They're already in use by Shiit. You can't make this stuff up!
Are there headphones that image in front of you rather than in your head?
Stax Lambda Pro headphones position the drivers on the left and right, just like standard headphones. bdp24 was referring to the Stax Sigma phones that position the drivers perpendicular to the head, requiring a large bulky earcup. The sound was a...
Schitt Audio Still in business???
The names of their products can't be a plus either!
Is upgrading pre worth it?
FWIW, I recently replaced my longtime solid state McIntosh preamplifier with a tube unit. For me, the change was epic. Please don't attack this statement as it is no reflection on McIntosh. I think everyone has an ideal image of what sound they wa...
What in the world is going on.....
Sorry, stringreen, but this thread went off track several postings go. I got your point about being disappointed about the sound through your MP3/ Sennheiser setup being superior to your vinyl rig. I wish I had the answer to your dilemma. What dis...
What in the world is going on.....
I'm SHOCKED, shocked to learn that not everyone on this forum has the same musical tastes. Even the original poster of this thread admitted that on headphones, Paul Simon's "Stranger to Stranger" sounded "wonderful". Look, you may not like the alb...
Why so many headphones for sale with less than 10 hours of listening time?
I listened to the Fostex 900 at an audio show and really liked them. I have found that satisfaction with headphones has a lot to do with the amplifier that drives them. Listening through a Blue Hawaii headphone amp is a lot different than plugging...
What in the world is going on.....
Thanks for your opinion. Opinions are like (well, you know) and everyone has one. You’re entitled to yours. Thanks for showing it to us.P.S. Check page 1 and 2 of this thread and you can read what I said. It hasn’t been deleted! There’s no reason ...
Why so many headphones for sale with less than 10 hours of listening time?
So then, I guess everyone here is an imbecile. Is that right?
Why so many headphones for sale with less than 10 hours of listening time?
I could easily avoid this topic but I do have a comment. If someone wants to purchase any piece of high-end audio equipment (at full price), then sell it after only 10 hours use, I'm happy to buy it from them at 50% (or less) of their original pur...
What in the world is going on.....
Paul Simon recordings "sound crap"? Really, go listen to the "Graceland" CD or vinyl, and tell me it sounds "crap." You may need a hearing check. And for the comment about the new album being recorded "loud," makes me think about a car that is too...
What in the world is going on.....
I'm sorry that you are disappointed in the vinyl version of the new Paul Simon record, "Stranger to Stranger." I bought the CD the day it came out and played it in the car on the way home, and played it again listening to headphones later that day...
Individual International Seller Scam
rja,Please re-read my post. That's exactly my point! Your chances of having a bad experience are magnified once money leaves this country. At least you have a chance of finding a scammer here, but what are your chances of tracking down someone in ...
