Biggest bang for buck headphones removed really?
I thought the term "websites" was clear enough, but I never meant headfi, or headphone .com. It was a reference to websites that sell audio equipment, like e**y or cr******st. That should have been obvious. It was to me!

Individual International Seller Scam
This isn't the first thread about a scam, or how a member was duped by a "parasite". Obviously, there are cheaters in this world! What works for me may not work for others on this forum, but I never buy from anyone unless they are within driving d...
Yamaha DSP-A1 for 2.1 System
As a further comment on my posting above, I sold my Yamaha DSP A1 the next weekend, along with another Yamaha system. I sold them both on one of the no-fee websites. I sold them cheap and the family that bought them were thrilled to get them. The ...
Which Stax headphones- best bang for the buck
Koss ESP 950 were state of the art in yesteryear. Unfortunately, they can't begin to compete with Stax models available in 2016. My choices would be the SR 009, or Omega Mk1. It's always a good idea to pair them with a Stax driver unit. There are ...
Fair price for a Yamaha RX-V1
Whether you are into home theater or 2-channel, be sure you get one with HDMI output. That way it works with current video options. Personally, I would only buy separate components, which are easier to upgrade, but if you elect to buy another rece...
Fair price for a Yamaha RX-V1
I think $200-$300 is more likely for the RX-V1 receiver. I bought a champagne-colored one from a thrift store a few years ago. I spent $350 to get it repaired, then gave it to my son-in-law after I saw how many were available on the used equipment...
What is your go-to online place to buy physical medium of music? And why?
LP's=Half Price Books, Barnes & Noble; CD's=Rasputin's, Half Price Books; Cassettes (yes, cassettes)=local thrift stores that charge no more than $0.25 each. I have bought hybrid CD/SACD's here on Audiogon, but only if it includes free shipping!
Biggest bang for buck headphones removed really?
...and now, back to the topic. I think that Audiogon removes threads that include specific references to other websites. Also, they remove (and I don't fault them for this) threads that purport to ask for help in selling popular things like record...
Turntable belt/pulley help- kind of urgent
"...a small switch under the platter that needs to be turned ON..."  Who invents this stuff? Why wouldn't the phono output jacks be live all the time (like they are on most every other table)? Just another mean-spirited trick being played on anoth...
VPI MOTOR PULLEY ??
Well, thanks to everyone who tried to answer my question. I hope autospec finds the pulley he needs at a price that is reasonable.
VPI MOTOR PULLEY ??
That's very sad. So who's left, some megabuck table company like the one on the cover of this month's Absolute Sound? The prices are $100K+ for the table, $20K+ for the arm, and probably another $15K for the cartridge. I've thought about it and de...
VPI MOTOR PULLEY ??
I recently sold my two turntables (SP-10 Mk 2, Luxman PD-444) in the hope of consolidating into one, recent vintage table. Although I have not found one yet, I have settled on VPI as I believe parts are still available from VPI in the event repair...
Should I replace my driver?
If it's visible, then it's worth the money. The decision is yours. Think about how hard it might be later if you want to sell your KEFs with a dented gold driver. Would you buy it?
Speakers Women Like
While shopping for speakers in the 90's, I took my wife along to help me decide among the many choices available. We looked at the Martin Logan Monoliths, Quad ESL 63s and Sonus Faber Electa Amators. We chose the Sonus Fabers for their combination...
