What is an acceptable level of transformer hum on a Krell S300i? In a dedicated listening room, using a dedicated AC line, my S300-i hums when the dishwasher is on, any hair-dryer is on, any timer for outdoor lights are on, or when the dryer is on. The hum is about 60 Hz and regiesters 43 dB from a few feet awa...
Possible Upgrade You are certainly welcome. This hobby isn't known for much common sense, but the best advice I read years ago when you've become unhappy with your system is to:Take a sabbatical. Don't listen to your system for at least a month or more. Listen to b...
How do I find an audio advisor who does home consultations? Another + for buying the book Get Better Sound by Jim Smith. Best money you'll ever spend if you follow his advice.

Place three or four under the component. Try them "upside down" or "right side up". They have worked for me, but as usual YMMV.Tom

Bi-Amping Which amp for highs and which for lows? That's great!Enjoy the music!!!
Bi-Amping Which amp for highs and which for lows? If the speakers have separate binding posts for highs and lows, then, yes you can run two identical runs of speaker cable attached to a single output post on the amp and each binding post on the speaker. Don't use the A and B posts on the amp. |
