Good Used Speakers ($8K-10K) For A Little Listening Room Audiotroy, my dedicated room is small and square (14x14) with some alcoves that do allow for less bass boom. My main problem was not bass, but 1st order reflections. I did not blow a lot of funds to treat with panels. Less than $1000 spent to cove...
PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Preamplifier. DESTROYS SPEAKERS!! These +/- posts remind me of pretty much everything else made by human hands. Inconsistencies. Among other marques, I've owned a dozen or so BMWs. Gas and Diesel. Sedan/coupe/x-over. Base 3-series to 5-series to a couple of M3s. Low miles to high ...
Good Used Speakers ($8K-10K) For A Little Listening Room Like others have said, get your setup dialed-in to play the room best, then do room treatment on all first reflection points, then bass traps in the corners if needed. Spend your money where it gives the most benefit.

Made all the difference in the world. The room will dictate half of what you hear.

Now, I'm confused. +3 lpretiringMy soundstage became larger/bigger/deeper only after I installed room treatments, and I'm listening to SS, not tubes.I'm using Primacoustic panels, purchased from Sweetwater Sound. No vested interest, just a happy customer.Read Jim Smi...

Is Jim Smith's Book"Get Better Sound"Best Book ? Agree 100% with @barrysandy about the book. I can't speak about Jim Smith himself, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out he is a great guy.
3 head cassette decks Had a Nak back in the 80s. With metal tape, peaks set for +7 dB (if I'm remembering correctly) it made fabulous sounding tapes. And the feel of all the controls was fabulous too. |
