What is the best way to sell a record collection?
I sold mine in lots of ten to twenty as Schipo suggests. But, and this a big but, I sold 500 lps not 3500. It was a bit of a pain. Selling 3500 will be a major pain. Search the archives here as this question comes up monthly.
Moving from Carpet to Hardwood floors...need help
Let me start by saying I'm cheap. So when I needed to move a pair of Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rods on to a hardwood floor I went to Lowes and bought eight hex bolts with the same thread as my spikes. It looked as though the bolt heads were going ...
Recommend me a bright musical Bookshelf speaker.
Silverline Audio SR-11s have a natural sound. Although I wouldn't consider them bright, they definitely aren't "boomy." For me they work best on stands at least 26 inches high.
Best Integrated Amp? Help...
Haven't tried it with B&W but the Bel Canto eVo2i is a very nice integrated. I have used it with a few different speakers always with excellent results. Runs cool and quiet.
Does a Postal Money order need to "clear"?
I would not make a buyer wait if a postal money order was used unless it looked suspect. I was ripped off once back when you could leave negative feedback. The fact that Agon feedback means so little now really stinks.
Thinking about selling Vinyl collection - long
I was in a similar situation two years ago. We were moving and while preparing my lps for the move I realized they had been in the same closet, nearly untouched, for twelve years!I knew they would just go into a closet in the new house so I decide...
CD Player with the best Built-in Volume Control...
Resolution Audio. The CD-50 is the model I've used but I expect the later models are even better.
With 15W tube amp, which speakers to use?
Check here for info on Proac speakers. All the specs you could ask for.
I just don't get PC Audio
I honestly think the turning point will be when high res downloads are ubiquitous....otherwise I am stuck buying CDs anyway so I can rip them.Exactly. Until then it makes no sense to me. Some enjoy the ability to quickly punch in what they want to...
I just don't get PC Audio
If one listens to 2 albums per day maybe a computer is not for them. A stand alone media player would make more sense. That's what keeps me from going the hard drive route more than any other reason. Two of my daughters have converted to computer b...
Banana plugs, Spades or a little of each?
I recently tried these BFA plugs. I believe they have more contact area than spades. I find with spades, even good ones, you need to check periodically for proper tension. They will almost always need a little tightening after a while.
Salamander racks?
I recvd an AudioAdvisor catalog today. They are offering a three shelf Sanus stand for $179. I have no experience with the Sanus stands but they are in your price range. Not sure what kind of vibration dampening $200 will buy. I built my own Archet...
Speakers for a smaller room/moving issues...
Went through room size reduction a while back with quite a few speakers making an appearance. You don't specify price so here's my take. We moved into an apartment while waiting for the house to be completed and I was lucky enough to have a dedica...
Sleeper older preamp with great phono.....
My favorite in this category is the Nakamichi CA-5. The build and parts quality inside these units is far above the competition. You don't mention price but for the money used, the sonics are excellent. I have owned quite a few vintage preamps (tw...
Vinyl shops in Lexington KY.?
What a coincidence. I have accompanied my wife on several business trips as she visits resorts. Been all over Colorado, down to Orlando, Myrtle Beach and Virginia with her. I only rarely check audio haunts though.
