fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones
I think many are really insincere in advocating it, in that they would not pay any attention unless it supported their belief that there are no differences.Tbg, probably true in some cases, although I can't think what benefit there is to that way...
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones
Don't mention double blind tests as they are invalid tests for audio.Tbg, wow, where did that come from? To paraphrase you, certainly you saying DBTs are invalid don't make it so. As Magfan asserts, conducting DBTs would be difficult with hifi but...
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones
Personally I am more skeptical than most but if Dave_b is happy with his fuse experiment it sure as hell doesn't bother me. Does he believe he hears a difference? Yes.Do I believe there is a difference? No.Who's opinion matters? Pretty simple real...

So Dave, are you saying the change was dramatic?
hooking up my cdp directly to amp?
The c541 does not have a variable output which means some form of attenuation is required before feeding the signal to your amp. If you do go direct into a power amp with the NAD, put your fingers in your ears as you hit the play button.
Ever feel like we are going nowhere here?
Wonderful to hear she's back home where she belongs!
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment?

Best next step to upgrade sound?
The best bang for your buck is powercords. This is probably one of the most overlooked areas in terms of upgrades but will yield significant improvement in sound.Seriously? I'm guessing his current equipment has captured power cords.Bob's suggesti...
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment?

CD player NOT made in China under $1,000?
I bought my first Toyota back in 76. Drove it for 5 years. During that time it needed a brake job and a battery. Since then I have owned 8 more Toyotas. My current Toyota was made in Kentucky while my Ford Focus was made in Mexico. As for my stere...
CD player NOT made in China under $1,000?
I am amazed that the disappearance of any low and mid-range products made elsewhere has seemingly gone un-noticed.What makes you think people haven't noticed? The loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. to overseas locations is extremely noticeable...
CDP better than Oppo 970HD
Currently there are four Resolution Audio cdps, two CD-50s and two CD-55s listed on Agon. I own a CD-50 and an Oppo 980HD and there is no comparison. I actually took the Oppo out of my system and am using it strictly as a DVD player because it was...
Man Cave or No?
I got my dedicated room when we became empty nesters. It's an upstairs bedroom that's occupied by three chairs, the system, cd racks and room treatments. Much better for audio but it can get a bit lonely as my wife has zero interest in listening. ...
Note for those who buy used equipment...
A good place to start that research is the archives here. There are many testimonies to manufacturers who have gone the extra mile to service equipment which was bought used. I have had several incidents where I needed service or help with used eq...
Best all around speakers
The previous discussion about speakers playing at high volumes brings me back to the original post and an attribute needed in a "best all around speaker."Much of my listening is late at night. As the system is not tucked away in the basement and I...
