DACs: Burmester vs. Meitner vs. dcs
If you are considering DACs in this price range then I would guess you have the means to go wherever you have to to listen to each. Then you can make some decisions and not rely on the opinions of others. This is in NO WAY intended to be a snide r...
Does full range guarantee bass?
By definition, full-range does guarantee you bass. However, not all full-range speakers will do it the same or even well.

AR vs Cary vs Blue Circle vs...
For solid state, I wouldn't rule out a used Ayre V-3.

Canare Digiflex Gold I would be a good choice within your price range.
Which is better? AES/EBU or coaxial?
Trust your ears! However, the answer to your question depends upon the design of the equipment in question, especially the circuit topology. AES/EBU doesn't always sound better IMO.
Every make a purchase you truly regret?
Honestly, no.
Optical v. Coax digital audio cables
Coax is preferred. It transmits the digital signal more accurately and intact. With optical you have to be concerned about the bend in the cable so as not to create any distortion from stressing the optical fibers in the cable. There are certainly...
