Sloped baffle
Hi guys, I'm back to the real world... first, Al, thank you for your gracious words... If Green Mountain audio meet specks, what Bombaywalla posted are truly amazing, it takes a lot of crossover work to bring phasing in line to plus or minus 3 deg...
Sloped baffle
I'll be off the net for a couple of days, so I'll end my part of this thread here. Simple 6 db slopes do not tell the story at all, Most would be amazed that when you put a simple cap on a tweeter expecting a 6db slope, many times you might find 9...
Sloped baffle
Hi Bif, Well, you've got a bit of confusion going on. A sloped front is used to align the voice coils on the tweeter/woofer or tweeter/mid/woofer. The idea is to get all frequencies starting on the same plane... Using an easy example is a 2 way......
Sloped baffle
The sloped baffle is to align the voice coils.... perfect voice coil alignment is the big draw of a point source driver. (proper coax mount)Tim

Hi guys, I don't want to pretend to be The Expert on this subject, but I've built hundreds of speakers and have worked and designed along side some of the best back in my Marcof/SpeakerCraft days... so,"but only if in combination with 1st order cr...

Mofimadness answered correctlyAbout time alignment. As far as phasing... it is simply having your individual drivers operatingIn unison at all frequencies... As you change crossover points and slopes, phasing changes between drivers.... Correct tim...
NAGATRON HV9100
Hi intactaudio,I hear ya, don't mind giving someone a deal, but don't want to give it away. If I can't get something decent out of it, Sooner or later, I'll mount it.... I remember at the time, it competed favorably to the NAK 1000, just too long ...
NAGATRON HV9100
Thank Yogiboy, Yea, I thought of Vinyl asylum, I was just thinking that if it was worth it, that I would list it here, so I posted the question here... it is really a fine low output ribbon cartridge, I have hand spec'd full curves, I hate to leav...
NAGATRON HV9100
Well, I'm surprised that I haven't heard from anyone... I'm not looking for offers, this isn't a subversive attempt to sell this. The question is straight forward. I recall it being a very nice sounding cartridge... and you won't find many ribbons...
Denon DP-59L skips at end of record
I just picked up a mint DP60L doing the exact same thing... My Antiskate is definitely off, even at 0, it pulls a back force of near 2g... I won't have a chance to check it out for a couple of weeks. If you don't have answers when I do, I will res...
Lowend Preamp on a budget.
At $300, the Sumo Athena (No Remote) is better than all Adcoms except the GFP-750.The GFP-750, Muse 3 (non signature) or BelCanto Pre 1, might be had at that price, all great pre's, balanced and have a remote. Muse 3 signature should be $800 - $90...
Musical, high powered Amp under $1k
The Classe should do a fine job for you...
Any thoughts on removing a preamp from your system
I have tried it many times, I've always gone back to my trusted preamp... But, I'm doing it again shortly. Just built a DIY ES9018 USB Dac that is bit perfect through windows volume control... So, one more try for me. Tim
Musical, high powered Amp under $1k
As much as I don't like people peddling their goods without listing on the forum, the Muse 160 is a terrific amp.... I've followed them many times, going price is $800. Also agree with Marqmike, his list is all good, I'd probably recommend a Sumo ...
