You've tried other amps and ended with Pass, please discuss @gdnrbob @three_easy_payments,What speakers are you using?BobSpendor D7. It actually said in post above.
Listening to music matters Freddie Hubbard thought my woof was going to blow? was wondering if it was possibly caused through subsonic rumble. I'm guessing warp wasn't the issue.
Schiit setup troubleshooting @atmasphere I don't think the Freya S has tubes. I believe the Freya+ is the tubed model.
Listening to music matters Freddie Hubbard thought my woof was going to blow? Was it on vinyl?
The best place to listen to music?? I'd like to just hear his selections and not get too caught up in the audiophile experience. It's a venue with attitude and a vibe, not a studio.
Pass XA25 or Pass XA 30.8 One factor that did go into my calculus was the differentially balanced inputs and circuit in the XA30.8 compared to the XA25. While a non-factor for many I did want to combine my fully balanced VAC pre with a fully balanced amp.
Pass XA25 or Pass XA 30.8 You may want to check out my comments as well as others on this recent thread: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/you-ve-tried-other-amps-and-ended-with-pass-please-discuss I believe it will be a very long time before I get the itch again to b...
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot @almarg I believe the OP's reference to "cabinet" pertained to the metal enclosure of the amp itself. Ah yes, I see I likely misread.
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot You probably shouldn't have it placed inside of a poorly ventilated cabinet. My Class A amp is warm but not burning hot to the touch but I choose place it on an amp stand, not even within a rack. Ventilation is important.
Transformer coupled outputs/inputs in preamplifiers. I didn't even think about this being a factor in why my VAC preamp pairs so well with my Pass amp. I had attributed much of the synergy to the impedance match primarily but this makes a lot of sense.
You've tried other amps and ended with Pass, please discuss I don't have a lengthy data set of amps to reflect on but when I replaced my Cary CAD 120-S MKII with a Pass XA30.8 I was in sonic heaven. The XA30.8 drove my Spendor D7 speakers so much better with a deeper and more precise bass, larger depth an...
Opinions Golden Sounds DH Cones, I just bought some, they came in today I’m not sure that a preamp is heavy enough for the Jumbo DH cones. I thought they were recommended by GS for heavy components and speakers. I could see the high frequency exaggeration if used on lightweight equipment. I use the small DH cones in c...
30 Watts of class A power: What Speakers are you using and suggesting? @ostrey I recently discovered my pass labs xa30.8 sounds amazing with 4 ohm or difficult loads. That is what I tend to stick to now. That's because Pass (as stated by Desmond Harrington) indicates the XA30.8 will output 90 watts @ 1% into 8Ω a...
Best Tubes on Market today? DC offset most certainly can and does exist on AC lines. And it can definitely cause or exacerbate mechanical transformer hum/buzz on both tube and SS amps. I have personally witnessed even an inexpensive Emotiva CMX-2 reduce mechanical hum/buzz...
30 Watts of class A power: What Speakers are you using and suggesting? I'm using a Pass Labs XA30.8 to effortlessly drive Spendor D7s. |
