Any Mark Knopfler Fans Out There?
I gotta go thumbs down of this one as well. I get the feeling that MK was pushed to make a 2 disc release and just didn't have the depth to do so. There are a few good tracks and had he picked the best of the two discs and released a single disc. ...
Revel Performa 3
I have the F32's and center/surrounds that match. I was hoping they would be at RMAF, and if they were I missed them.Unfortuneatly we have no Revel dealers in my immediate area. But I am looking forward to reviews here and published.
Two McIntosh 275's or Single MC452???
As a long time owner of a MC402 and one who craves a MC452, as I understand it has improved the sound of the 402. I have to propose a question that only you can answer. How do you like the sound of the MC275 in you system now? If you are happy and...
TT upgrade advice?
I'd consider the Rega RP-3 and a Bias MKII Cart. those total 1065.00 but just about any dealer will drop at least 10% to make a customer.
HDMI cable length...how long is too long ?
I attended a seminar on HDMI given my Jeff Boccaccio at RMAF and from what he told us that length of cable should not really exceed a 15 foot run. However he indicated that if you need to employ a longer run that the quality of cable to assure tim...
New Delos cart
I owned a Delos before I traded up to a Kleos. The cart first of all need to break in. I also will reinforce that it is not bright by nature. I feel it is detailed and accurate in it's re-prodcution. It can seem a little bright or tilted when new,...
What exactly is "breaking in" on a new cartridge ?
Nosleplums, as you indicate and as does Tketcham, yes you are right. The break in period is the initial wear in period. But once the related parts wear in the rate of wear is dramatically reduced. No different than the rings against a cylinder oth...
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Macster, which Classic do you have? What areas of performance would you say were the most identifiable?Chayro, unfortunately I don't have a Basis dealer in my area. So can you elaborate as to the presentation the Basis offers over the LP12? More a...
What exactly is "breaking in" on a new cartridge ?
Noslepums, if you read my first response, I indicated that all moving parts within the cartridge need to wear in so that they move freely in interacting with each other. I only indicated that a "warm up" period seems to help for each session. But ...
Time of listening session?
I listen mostly at night or on Sunday mornings. Otherwise I am with you on the Rifleman. A lot of young stars got attention on that show. But the relationship between father and son were classic, and the Lucas-Micah friendship was a big part of th...
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Pani, on your Avid how long have you had it and are there many upgrades available? Also have you ever had any cause to need parts or service and if so how did you find availability of either to be? Do you have a dealer close to you, I would have t...
Lyra Skala
I also thought the "paper" served to reduce any reflective "feedback" from the record surface as well? I have had the Delos and now have a Kleos and without breaking out the manual or my research, I swear that I read somewhere that the "paper" ser...
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Pani,I mostly listen to old rock, some blues, jazz and virtually no classical. So does that change the VPI consideration and actually I meant to list the Classic III not the II. From what Moonglum and Lotus340r are stating that I am gleening that I...
What exactly is "breaking in" on a new cartridge ?
Suspension, coils all moving parts developing a working motion together. I find that my Kleos now well "Broke-in" still sounds better once I play one LP side to "warm up" for each session. YMMV
Wanna feel old?
Do I have a choice?
