Just bought a nitty gritty, hear no difference.
I had the NG 1.1 and I used to use a Sound GUard mat to scrub the record on before the vacuum stage. I found that the Sound Guard mat held the record in place and allowed me to really bear down with the brush to lossen all that would come off. I d...
Why so many "newer" Mac's for sale?
Gotta agree with Jeff and Genesis. I think people are never happy, me included. We just wan to keep seaching for that "Holy Grail" even when we holding it. The rise in McIntosh is probably indicative of higher McIntosh sales overall. They have rea...
I am openning a shop. What equipment should I sell
First thought in my mind is, why are you asking us? We don't know your market. What is your competition selling?Sell something different to avoid price wars. What price range will your client base be willing to pay?Don't sell to high-end or they wi...
Denon Service... Yeah or Nay?
Rws1950 was that a warranty claim?
Denon Service... Yeah or Nay?
Thanks for the input. It seems as though they do not offer any real customer assistance. After owning McIntosh and Marantz I am used to being able to get answer. I only can remember one other manufacturer that I had trouble with and that was Naim....
New Records noisy
I have to agree that it seems in the past few years the quality has really gone down. I wonder if the manufacturing cost have gone up so they chose to lower the quality in lieu of charging higher prices. After all sometimes I think 'Gee I am spend...
Review ... Neil Diamond's "12 Songs"
Neil Diamond has made a very interesting evolution through the years. The days of Solitary Man and Velvet Gloves and Spit to the Jonathan Livinston Seagul then the Beautiful Noise to Tap Root Manuscript and somehow going from Serenade to Love on t...
CD Help
1)Have you tried another CD player to see if you are getting the same result? 2)Also have you tried another input on the pre-amp? If no to 1) and yes to 2) I would consider the Sony is producing a lot of distortion which reveals itself at high lis...
SUGGESTIONS :1500 -2000 DOLLAR 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM
Take a look at the Anthony Gallos and also Acoustic Energy Esprit line. They both would be good matches for the Denon. One other consideration is the Energy Connisour (spelling) line. They are very dynamic for the money I have the C3's in my garage...
Ayre C-5xe vs. BelCanto PL-1A vs DV-50S..
Well not directly but here's my story. I own a Linn Ikemi and I compared it to the DV50S and felt on redbook the differnces were neglegible if that. I fell in favor of the Ikemi and still have it. The other day I was able to A-B with the Ayre and ...
Velodyne DD: 10 or 12?
Kck, Actually I may have mis-lead you in first response. I would consider 2 10s in lieu of the 12. The reason is I think that 2 subs would sound better. I have heard in some demo's at different dealers using 2 subs. And I feel that there is a bett...
Outstanding Drum Performances
Get the new Cream at Albert Hall. Ginger Baker does and 8 minute solo that is great.
Velodyne DD: 10 or 12?
I have the DD12 in a room about 18 x 24 with connecting rooms and it is more than enough. I have considered selling it buying 2 DD10s but that is a future plan. The DD12 is more than enough for now. I replaced a Paradigm Servo 15 and what an improv...
My oh my....guys check this out
I also heard or rather felt it at the Denver RMAF show. Interesting concept and very cool but the construction requirements make it home use prohibative. As jeffereybehr points out it does and amazing job below 16hz it was interesting but the 12-1...
Sick of static-y Rega felt mat
I have the same issue with my P25 and I have found that Radio Shack Anti-Static spray works. I does require re-treatment occasionally. Make sure to let it dry before you use the mat again. Sorry it doesn't tighten the bass or make any sound improv...
