Outlaw and dynaudio? I switched from an older Denon receiver to the Outlaws and kept the Denon as a pre-pro. I don't know the 5800. I thought the sound was cleaner and fuller with the Outlaws. I actually bought the Outlaw 950 but sent it back. The controls were clumsy...
Is Diana Krall "Live in Paris" out on vinyl? Oh, please, Warrenh. Someone asks a simple question about an artist he or she likes and you respond that way? What is wrong with you? If you can't play nice, don't play here. There are plenty of other forums to go to.
upgrade advice for budget-minded beginner I will chime in here and say that no specific piece by itself is worth recommending, because it is the whole that is important. It is my philosophy that the speakers and the source (CD or LP) are the most important links in the chain, and the amps...
New CD will not play in my Classe player? My older Classe CDP-.3 has played everything that I have put in it for the past three years as long as it is the original. It will occasionally play a CD-R, but only when it feels like it, and that isn't very often. Maybe its the copy protection o...
Opinions Creek Classic 5350SE vs. Rotel RX-1052 I own the 5350 and run a pair of Von Schweikert VR-1s. Not quite as demanding of an amp but not easy either. I am very very happy with the Creek. I didn't listen to the Rotel although a friend has similar separates from Rotel and is happy. I don't...
Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope? Treece,I had the same problem in a room we converted into a library. The bookshelves were built in and mahogany. I found the Von Schweikert VR-1s matched the wood almost perfectly and sit in the bookshelves. They have different finishes, but I lik...
Von Schweikert VRS/1 subwoofer - thoughts? I combined my Von Schweikert VR-1s with an REL Q108E instead of the VRS-1 sub and am very happy. I wasn't able to demo this sub, so I can't say, but if it is anything like my VR-1s, it has to be fantastic. Good luck!
Happy Birthday John Lennon If you love music and how it can change our lives, you miss his presence. It is not possible to know what he would do today. But it is enough to know what he has done already and to take it to heart.
Outlaw and dynaudio? I use Outlaw Audio M200s with Dynaudio 70s and Dynaudio 122C with excellent results. I have no reason to look further.
old stereo and speaker wire Unless you are working with very fine equipment, just use good wire and bare wire on the ends. Some cable manufacturers even recommend bare wire because with soldered terminations, you introduce just another way to interfere with the signal.
Kimber Hero vs MIT AVT1 interconnects I have Kimber Heros, 5 meter length. I am sensitive to brightness in a system and I run the Kimbers from my Aragon Stage One to Outlaw Audio M200s to Dynauadio 70s. No interference even though I have a mass of cables and a long run. No brightness ...
Canare 4S11 two strands vs four strands It does not matter which strands you pair as long as you are consistent end to end. I have used 4S11 but for my 30 foot run I used a pair of them and did not compare 2 vs 4 strands. Since you are going for outdoor speakers, will you notice the dif...
Downsized and still happy, can it happen? I believed that separates were superior until I bought a Creek 5350SE for a second system. The right integrated, mated with the right source and the right speakers is superior in many ways.
What CD players have volume control Tjoeb 4000 has volume control, which is bypassable. Good unit for the money, through Kevin Deal at Upscale audio.
Anyone have experience with "Signal Cable" Cables? I think best bang for the buck is Blue Jeans Cable. I have had great luck with their cables. Their website has a lot of information about cables that makes sense and convinced me that, for my system, paying more for cables was not necessary. |
