Help Speakers trapped on bookshelves I sympathize with you! I placed my Von Schweikert VR-1s in the bookshelves, brought them forward as much as was safe, placed different sized books on either side and placed them slightly above my ear height. I also placed the shelves so that there...
Canare 4S11 Star Quad cables for speaker Sfar said it best. So easy to work with, and a great price/benefit ratio.
Easy to Drive Bookshelf Monitor? I believe the VR-1s would be a challenge to drive for a small amp at moderate to loud volumes. It depends on the room and how loud you like it. The others mentioned may be more suitable for you, even so, I love the sound of the VR-1s. Good luck!
VON SCHWEIKERT VR-1 OR PARADIGM STUDIO 20 V3 With respect for others opinion, there are few speakers that are superb for all kinds of music. If they exist they are very expensive and not in the same league as these $1000/pair speakers. Some compromises have to be made, especially in bass ext...
Creek 5350SE - Is it all that? I think it is a great amp for the money. I love my Creek 5350 SE. Many people rave about the Prologue as well, but I haven't heard it.
VON SCHWEIKERT VR-1 OR PARADIGM STUDIO 20 V3 I have the VR-1s and love them. For reference, I have the Creek 5350 SE, NT 4000 with upsampler and generic cables (blue Jeans and homemade speaker cables). It does have a lot to do with the elctronics, but perhaps more with the room. The VR-1s ar...
Experience with Audio Electronic Supply PH-1? Thanks very much for your reply. Any others?
Spike or decouple ? I like my floorstanding Dynaudios with spikes through carpet to concrete floor. When I uncouple them, something is lost. It seems that I lose definition in the bass frequencies. But, its always trial and error for speaker placement.
Floorstander or Sub/Sat I am now of the opinion that for the money a sub is necessary, even if only for the sub-30Hz information. So many opinions....but, unless you can spend a large sum for very large floorstanders, I think subs are great. I like the way monitors image...
Proac 2000 vs. Von S'kerit VR-1 No chance to compare. Love my VR-1s. Mated with a REL Q108E because of a small room. Great detail, perfect for small groups, strings, vocals. Images and sounds hang in the air. Driven with a Creek 5350SE. Good luck!
How do I easily add surround to my 2 channel setup My advice is to find the cleanest pre-amp/processor that will keep the 2 channel on a direct pass-through, then add amplifiers. My older Denon did have great sound with separate amps from Outlaw and it is an affordable way to go. Outlaw Audio does...
A brutal review of the Wilson Maxx I'm gussing that Wilson didn't send him any speakers for him to set up in his studio, therefore he had to listen to them somewhere else. It is unlikely he will be offered an audition from WIlson in the future! It is vitriolic, to be sure, however,...
Does my 7 channel need some back up? I switched from ADCOM to Outlaw Audio and was pleased. For HT it is hard to beat. I got the M200s (now M2200s). Later you can add the 990 pre-pro and you're set.
Need advice on subwoofer I have both REL and Hsu Research and love them both. The Hsu gives you the option of returning it if you don't like it.
Integrated amp shutting down How much money? |
