Finding ultra-pure water locally...
As I said, do what you need to do, as there is no real information on which to judge the needed purity of water you need. I probably would have continued to use RO water as I had been using had I not tried the Walker Prelude system.
Any updates on the Nova Memory Player?
What is shown as the price is the transport only. This seems to be all that they have at this time. although there has been much discussion about the 32 bit tube dac. I really would have liked to hear this unit but never could, nor do I know wheth...
Finding ultra-pure water locally...
Markd51 and Crem1, as we really don't know what the benefits of purity are, I do think we have to go by what we personally judge to be pure enough. I have found, as I noted, that Walker's water sounds better as a final rinse than either store boug...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
There are many passions that engage people. Why don't you collect old sewing machines or spend time on blogs?
Any updates on the Nova Memory Player?
I heard the MP at the RMAF and the sound was quite good. I could not find out, however, which MP this was. Evidentially, it had an dac within the box, but no one would tell me whether it was the 32 bit dac. Ultimately, at CES I heard two new cd se...
Finding ultra-pure water locally...
Let see to really do this right we would need to have a broad range of purity as well as price. We would need to do a broad sampling of records to be cleaned and then rinsed with our rinse water. From my experience with Walker's water and both dis...
Isoclean fuses: definitely worth it
Willster, I have thus far ignored the notion of replacing the fuses each six months. I did replace one once and heard no difference. This would, of course, increase sales. It is certainly possible the construction geometry may account for the dire...
Hifi Tuning Fuses
Ghosthouse, you are right that IsoClean are all slow blow, but there is nothing but the filament visible inside the fuse. It is my understanding that slow blows just a material around the filament to absorb the short term heat. I would call Brian ...
What is the best phono preamp you have heard?
Paragon 12A, wow, how fondly I remember that piece.
Hifi Tuning Fuses
I have done several comparisons between the IsoClean fuses which I have been using for several years and the newer Hi-Fi Tuning fuses. I discovered that the Hi-Fi Tuning fuses are directional although they are not marked as the IsoClean are. You m...
Lonely piece of marble: where should it go?
I bought it in Texas at a granite mine. Most tombstone dealers can probably get you some. Also it is now very popular for countertops. They might have leftovers that would be very pretty, but too thin for your purposes. Also machine shop suppliers...
Lonely piece of marble: where should it go?
Mr_stain, make some art out of the marble. Forty years ago, may put marble on racket balls with slits in them. I still have the piece of marble on which we make bread. It was terrible for isolation. I would not recommend maple either; it robs musi...
Surge Protection
Kitjv, regardless of what you get or try, I would strongly recommend that you compare your sound with and without it. I suspect you will remove it.Remember that you can always unplug your system in storms or when you are out of town. My house has ...
Classical speakers that do violins well??
Shadorne, the real question is how many recording engineers use the same equipment in their personal systems. The needs of a recording studio are different from those used for entertainment.
Surge Protection
They all sound like crap, which you will have to endure if you want to be prudent.
