Why Is Hi Fi Gear So Darn Expensive? If the market wants something, they will pay-pretty simple. The last 2 years certainly didn't help. It's not food, gas or necessity, so why should anyone complain? It is what it is. Retail markup is pretty insane from a consumer standpoint. I ...
Help! Which speakers to exhibit in Long Beach, CA audio show? You shouldn’t have mentioned what how you heard in the presentation.
Ridiculous sale I call that "strategic selling" See the "make offer button?" My guess is the bar is raised high, for anticipating buyers negotiating a lower, "reasonable' price. Seller likely will sell at a profit, but....you just never know? Of course, there ...

UGH...The tired, "BEST" Rock guitarist thread leadcrew- YOU win the internet. The thread is about Ted's view on EVH and R&R, that's it. I saw Ted in 76, at his peak (IMO)before his "Cat Scratch Fever" and later rubbish.
Alan White-Yes. R.I.P. "The poor man was obviously ill, and could only play a couple of songs before taking a break and being replaced by another drummer whose kit was also set up on the stage. The really sad part was that it is a round revolving stage at this venue, a...
Disappointing short life of NOS preamp tube "I actually wonder that. Not sure there’s a guarantee of being "NOS", or whether that would even matter except for power tubes." mulveling- yeah, the "NOS" thing is roll of the dice. With preamp tubes, it may not be such an issue whether or not y...
UGH...The tired, "BEST" Rock guitarist thread "I can listen to all curated VH in random; Fire In The Hole" fuzztone- I tried to listen VH after their 2nd album, but quickly lost interest. VH was still a great band, but just wasn't my thing. I also found the Sammy Halen thing of no interest...
Perimeter Ring Clamps: Yay?, Nay?, Sources?? If one plays used LP's it makes sense if your setup can handle it AND you don't mind additional hassle. Have you tried the O ring and clamp to dish the LP? It's the least expensive and effective way to get most LP's reasonably flat.
Need Speakers at least 4 feet high jonwolfpell- let's pray the OP found a solution. It's only been 14 years.

Turntable sub $4k buy decisions too many. VPI user experiences seem to be all over the place here, on Agon. As a 10 year user, based on your description of what you had, I would have imagined it a fantastic performer. Did you have it setup up professionally? If not, that may have contr...
Disappointing short life of NOS preamp tube mulveling, Yeah, I figure it was in the upper range nearing 10K hours. As said in the opening post, I'm just goofing on the fact they lasted "only 7 years." I get most of my tubes from Brent Jesse, and trust his listings. If he say's their NOS, ... |
