pivetta-following the thread for enlightenment. As a former owner of Regas older generation P2,P5and RP1,I thought Rega tables are great for the money. I just moved on to a different brand and spent 4x the Rega! Never had a noise or any issue with ...
FM alive and well here...curious question
ruebent-I forgot about the USB port!If I get the bug for something different, I will go DAC shopping and get with the times.

Stringreen- I too have always heard a sonic difference between "subscription" radio vs "over the air" Clearly, the options kill FM.This topic of FM listening  reminds me of TV viewing.I don't have cable, and over the air broadcast still has a supe...

"In a word: No. It's not even close."cleeds-"good sound" of course is subjective, but I can't imagine anything beyond lofi, if one doesn't have a decent soundcard in their pc? A reasonably fast, clean internet connection is commonplace now, but a ...

"Don't need one , computer will do just fine."schubert-is the sound quality of playing an  online statin equal to a nice tuner?I have zero knowledge how this method works. Are you using a digital out from thePC/laptop soundcard plugged into DAC? Th...

bdp24-Its not a surprise SoCals Classical and Jazz station are what they are now.The biggest problem may be the  declining listener base. New listeners arent keeping pace with attrition.I can do without the "personalities" but, this is California.

schubert-Even though news/events seem to make it easier than EVER to believe it’s time to stash more money under the mattress, let’s hope you’re WRONG!I’m just glad so many record collections have been given up in the 80’s.My desert island collect...

"Of course Herr Trumps budget.."Schubert- Unfortunately, funding has been on the decline since the 80s, perhaps more so the last 10-15 years?I imagine we can look forward to even LONGER PLEDGE DRIVES and 99.9% corporate/private donations including...

I was worried my post is evidence FM listening is dead!Nearly 100 views, no responses!"Based on your description it sounds like it may not be worth the effort."I was hoping to read such a response. Didn't want to start a project involving climbing...
Spin Clean fluid
I've been using my Spin Clean nearing 8 years, and just haven't been motivated enough to invest in a "proper" RCM. I've had the pleasure of using the Audiodesk a couple of times on some prized discs. While the VPI and others are great, the procedu...
Upgrading Turntables. Stick with Rega?
Using the best source available-your P2-It wouldn't hurt to bump up the level of cart and phono stage. They can be used on a more substantial table upgrade, perhaps after you assess the entire system later. The sonic improvement may offer more valu...
Recommend Sony Amp Repair In Los Angeles
In LAhttp://www.georgemeyer-av.comI believe there may be mixed reviews from years old threads. My personal experience with them with an amp repair was great. Friendly, fast turnaround. It was a warranty issue, so can't comment on rates.

"I've tried every trick I've seen on every forum and nothing has remedied the issue."Does that include using the $2.00 home depot ground lift adaptor plug?
Tired subject...Steely Dan original pressings
thanks for the info Andrew9405My  neighborhood record store(yes, I actually have one) has a well informed employee who always gives me a "stamper" alert if something new and interesting comes in.CBAT was the latest, so I went for it.  Glad I did. ...
Table upgrade: SOTA Comet? or ?
After a near 30 hiatus, my reentry was a Rega RP1. It was fine for what it was, to play my beloved records I just couldn’t part with when CD’s were the new kid on the block.I don’t know anything about the Comet, and a quick glance it appears to ju...
