Nordost Heimdall is the level to start with.  Like every other cable, it's subjective and argued to death on value/price.I use Heimdall II throughout. $20K Odin power cords have been in my system. It was something more appropriate for a $100K+ sys...
Which Sub-platter for my original planar 3
"Wouldn’t surprise me if there are $10k rigs out there that are just barely at the level of your hot-rodded Rega."Keen observation millercarbon! hehe.Meanwhile, my bin diving has rewarded me a few stamper grades of tired, but classic albums for my...
Caps for crossover upgrade for Opera Grand Callas Loudspeakers
Live with the fact it's the RECORDING.Nice speaker. I have the Seconda. Been putting off upgrading because their not perfect, but realize they sound as good as whatever recording is played thru them.If the upgrade works, great.
Chris meets Jimi
Ouch! That was an event 50 years ago. Interview probably within a couple years of his passing. Will YOU look 22, if you're lucky to speak of something in your life 50 years later?
Which Sub-platter for my original planar 3
When I had a P5, I replaced the subplatter with the Groovetracer.Very noticeable upgrade. IMO, that and a fresh belt, are the only worthwhile upgrades.Other than that, time to consider investing in a new table.I doubt there is significant sonic di...
Who does his playing remind you of.......
Huh?I guess being a 40 year guitar noodler and being a fan of Billy Gibbons/ZZ Top since the early 70's, I  don't hear anything "fancy and different."Eliminator and later albums were part of the MTV period which I thought was the final nail in the...
Is it common for tubes to outweigh the cost of the amp or preamp?
samiamnot-No insult intended with my post. The intention was to raise awareness  that perhaps one might consider  starting with a substantial "box" before additional expense-especially if it exceeds the value of the actual box. I use tubes in my s...
Is it common for tubes to outweigh the cost of the amp or preamp?
WOW! Doesn't it seem too good to be true? Just purchase a lower end tube amp, replace the tubes with expensive NOS, and it magically is transformed? If so, proceed with power cable, headphone cable and special fuse. Now your total purchase will be ...
Does it make sense to run a 3k cartridge on a 2k table?
fsonicsmith's perspective resonates with me.The OP's gear is good. The proposed cart, and others at that level however, may not be fully exploited  with the present setup. The next level phonostage at minimum, should be considered. The mentioning o...
MoFi Ultradeck+M
rpeluso-The MoFi ultra is a great table. I had the opportunity to demo one in my system.IMO, top of the heap with the tables it competes with. USA made, reasonable MSRP=winPlay the hell the out of the cart. When it 's time to replace it, consider a...
Bellari SE 560 Audio Exciter
Looks like another way to separate you from your money. There isn't even a real description of what it is.http://www.bellariaudio.com/index.php/products/se560-audio-sonic-exciter/Upgrade your preamp to match your PL. Thats a real upgrade.
Does it make sense to run a 3k cartridge on a 2k table?
Have you considered the Blue? A considerable step down from the Purple Heart in cost, but still a very good performer. I hear it as a neutral, convincing cart on my setup.Personally, I won't  go over half the retail of my table.Another cart that p...

Any Bay Ctiy Rollers or Bobby Sherman album find should make your bin diving feel complete.https://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play;_ylt=Awr9D27kn59cXlcAvTi5mWRH;_ylu=X3oDMTByZWc0dGJtBHNlYwN...
Stevie Ray Vaughn-"Texas Flood" MOFI SuperVinyl UD1S
That album, and "Couldn't Stand the Weather" are my favorites.I had the fortune of seeing Stevie when the Texas Flood album was released. One of the louder gigs my ears survived.Since the Mofi is a 45, I'm sure it has that magic 45's do. How does i...
Speaker Setup.....
As mentioned earlier, and in the video, speakers likely won't be perfectly spaced apart. If aesthetic isn't important, it's the way to go. You simply focus the speaker position to your ears. I use Cardas.http://www.cardas.com/room_setup_calculator...
