Should I buy a VPI SCOUTMASTER. I OWN 25 RECORDS.
4G’s for whatever table, isn’t going to make the sound you’re after.Plan on spending at least half of that amount on a decent phonostage.Nice table and so-so phonostage is a downer. You can get by with a $ 500-1K MC cart=entry point to hear what th...

Is that old guy on Decauter Blvd still selling overpriced used records? The place on Sahara and Paradise has cool stuff now and then.Back to your query..Table setup is a one time thing. Pops and noise? Buy better records, and clean them.A used VPI ...
LP made from a digital master recording...
Great question. Looking forward to reading some explanations and preferences. I think its purely a subjective call, but lets see the technical explanations for whatever is "better"
Primaluna prologue premium integrated and magneplanar LRS
I never understood those posts insisting  the need for gigawatt, high current amps. For audio kicks, I thought about getting a pair of the LRS for my PL HP. Are they still at the introductory price-$650?A sub or two would make up for the LRS botto...
Phono's $2100 to $2600
Sutherland N1-WOW!  It must be serious piece. It better be, with a $8K MSRP!It's SS, so it will be lacking the "organic" tube vibe, but not in a bad way? What's the deal with the volume control being the Achilles heel on the PL?This is a first read...
Phono's $2100 to $2600
pgastone-I don’t think you will experience buyers remorse with the Sutherland.Super quiet and precise performance, especially high volume when desired. If you do find a listing for the Foz, they are typically version1. I have the V2, which I rarely...
Phono's $2100 to $2600
"Tablejockey- you are using a Fosgate right ?" pgastone-affirmative. They pop up now and then for cheap. This thread peaked my interest when I was shopping. I purchased mine when the V2 was introduced a year of so, later.https://forum.audiogon.com...
Phono's $2100 to $2600
As barlobrain as mentioned,  you can find the earlier model Zesto Andros, every now and then in the listings. I liked what I heard, when I had one, in my system. Just wasn't groundbreaking, compared to my current unit.barlobrain also mentions the ...
Are Bowers and Wilkins speakers overpriced?
Overpriced? You're in the wrong hobby. Asking for a stamp of approval on something YOU like, isn't a good sign.
Heavy Metal Anyone?
I don't know for sure, but words from a person who doesn't or hasn't played a musical instrument.Just a silly, unenlightened comment.Back to Black Sabbath and Art Blakey on the table.Any system setup right, all music sounds good.
What is this speaker cable connection?
I'm calling a spade a spade
MoFi - Are You Kidding Me?
You got the last copy, on a Friday. The handler was ready to bolt out the door, after a long shift. They realized "oh crap! I forgot one." Your copy was then put in the sleeve. At least you didn't have mustard stains from their sandwich.
Usless but interesting ....how many of you old timers started with original Large Advents?
I clearly remember seeing/hearing the "Large" Advents in couple of homes in my childhood. They were always belonged to a friends older brother. I also recall a few popular posters that were always in the bedroom. "Keep on Truckin" or a Freak Broth...
Guest suddenly takes it upon herself to move my speakers
Is she a millennial/Gen Z?If so, it wasn't providing immediate satisfaction, therefore entitled to correct to their liking.
Any reason not to place stand mounted speakers upside down?
Trusting your own ears, appears to be forbodden in audio forums. It's not like driving a car in public, so do what ya like. I especially give props to all posters in virtual systems. Some rigs, just by looks are  STELLAR setups, Others....do what t...
