The Lifespan of an LP?
I doubt someone has played an LP to it's death to find out,  but playing a record with a nice setup will outlast you. There are members here who have purchased an album 40-50... 60 years ago and it plays fine now.
REL subwoofer questions, Storm III and/or Stadium II
Just another perspective.Don't waste money on PC/aftermarket cable. I've used REL for 10 years. The stock PC and speakon cable will do the job. Using the Britannia series, which is the last of the actual British REL.Cable being a YMMV thing, the a...
The best TT system for under 30K
"Aries Cerat Talos Signature"WOW! That's looks pretty serious. $50K phono stage. The OP has quite an assortment of hi end gear.  System appears to be in a nice room, but it's not optimizing the potential of that pricey gear. What a shame. Looks li...
Survey: HiFi System Priorities
"Survey" is way too complicated for someone ready to "step up".Take them to a local shop to see/feel and hear things before anything. Do they know what a proper setup sounds like? If not, how can they be convinced it worth the expense to determine...
Straight out of the box doesn't work.
Opening a Prima Luna thread-guaranteed to go off the rails, sooner or later.Funny, these anti MIC posters are typing away on their MIC computers via the MIC router through MIC cabling. Likely, their house has at least 50% MIC products they use eve...

If you had access to a time machine, what concerts would you go back to see?
mitchagain-I guess it’s the aging/awarness thing?Due to age-59, I was just too young to experience my R&R heroes. Had to rely on elders reliving Elvis, Beatles,Stones etc. moments.Other than a few "2nd tier" R&R bands/guitar heroes in the ...
If you had access to a time machine, what concerts would you go back to see?
A little of topic, but even as a lifetime R&R fan I would like to have witnessed performance of some of the greatest Classical pieces by the masters.Vivaldi,Hayden,Bach, Beethoven, Mozart....Anything else seems insignificant. Seating accommoda...
Straight out of the box doesn't work.
Before calling for support and sending it back, remove and reseat  power tube(s). Could be simple as that. PL user. I've had the errant bad tube LED go off, no big deal.
Tube amplifier upgrade suggestions welcome.
I won't mention Prima Luna products - it starts an infantile chest puffing, pissing contest and your thread will be deleted.
The Absolute Sound vs Pleasing Sound
Learn a musical instrument and play with other musicians. That's the "absolute sound"-live music.  Next best attend a concert.Other than that, it's all illusion.
