Need Inexpensive shipping material
Buy a big bag of regular popcorn kernals. Then pop them using a hot air popper, or maybe the microwave. Biodegradable as well, or use as bird/squirrel feed by receiver. See links:http://www.communitiesbychoice.org/printme.cfm?ID=235&print=1htt...

Adding A Remote to a Pre-Amp
The Creek mentioned above is worth a try. The circuit gets out of the way when no remote signal is present, so it is like having nothing there at all. It's so passive, it's really just a volume control .
Speaking of scams, how does Paypal work....
I assume?? you can always dispute the charge with VISA if you don't get the goods, etc.
NOS vs used tubes
I have been happy with used tubes. Many are available that are close to NOS. Keep in mind that unless you own a tube tester, you have no way of knowing a tube is really NOS. And some NOS tubes don't test as new because of age.
REL subs--Strata III or Storm III ??
Just a comment; a Stratus II only has a 60 watt amp, and has a different internal design than the Stratus III, which other than the name is a totally differenct sub.

REL subs--Strata III or Storm III ??
The Storm is not that much bigger. It is the same width and depth; and only 4 inches higher. It weighs 15 lbs more. The extra 50 watts of power are worth it in my opinion. That and the design lets it go lower. You could read the HiFi Choice Magazi...
Suggestion for Amp to 2 ohm loads?
The McCormack is nice as Craig suggests. I would add the Sim Moon W5 and the Blue Circle BC26.

Old Classic Receivers: A Mistake to Buy?
I think your friend is speaking in theory about the electronics, but in reality if a vintage receiver is well taken care of, it will still perform well.As far as FM tuners, the vintage analog tuners (even solid state) for the price will totally tr...
Most Sublime Beethoven Symphony
Both spellings of Bohm / Boehm are correct. Depends which language you are spelling in. Same as the use of Rachmaninoff or Rachmaninov; and Shostakovich or Chostakovich.
