What years were B&W 803 series 1 manufacured? The changes in the M803-S2 were in the construction of the internal Matrix cabinet I believe. The original M803 did not sound that much better than the M804, so it did not sell well (cost 50% more).
Insurance rider for your gear? I've always wanted that explained to me. My regular personal property replacement coverage is more than enough to replace every item in the house, even paying manufacturers' list prices; so why do I need to pay more for the audio gear??A good frie...
Love for music shatter by highend equipment I am in the music lover catagory for classical. The good system just makes it sound as good as possible. I have sold many better sounding CDs on eBay when I find another one with a much better performance.Instead of one super great system, I have ...
Does anybody read reviews? I wish they would put the reviews and the systems in their own catagory list. I tend to inadvertantly ignore them when they are mixed in with the discussion threadsOr I think it is a question on a particular product by mistake.
Cat 5 cable for audio? Yes, Chris VenHaus is very knowledgeable on the CAT 5.
REL Storm vs Storm 3 The Storm III also has a bigger amp. 150 watts versus 100 watts in the Storm. The Storm III also comes in real wood veneers. The original is only in Black Brittex. The original Storm is probably more like the Stratus III as far as performance.
Looking reccom. for tube pre amp for about 1000? A used Blue Circle BC21, maybe the new BC21.1 which I have not heard. BC will still make the BC21. The difference is in the type of tubes. A matter of taste.
Another "Odd" Auction Seller old positive feedback from sales are from people/purchasers with lots of feedback, so his old sales were probably OK. His negative feedback (4) is from him backing out of purchases on auctions he bid on.I wonder where he would get this new ...
Biwiring: can you really hear the difference? I agree whatever you do it will be audition. Double runs will sound differently than a single bi-wire cable, or a single run with jumpers, etc.
How did you get started? In my senior your of high school (1976-77). A friend kept taking me with him into the Sound and Music Co-op in Northampton, Massachusetts. He already had the bug (he went on to become a radio jock); and I soon caught the bug myself. Could not affo...
Which has a greater effect on music, int.amp or CD? Matty....I doubt having both the Complete CD and Amp is "too much". They were designed to go together as unit. If you like the YBA sound, then they should be perfect together.
Power cord from speaker cables? Some of the Audioquest cords are the same as the speaker cable. They just put on a different outer jacket, so it looks different.
Which is best Simaudio W-5 or Blue Circle BC 26? It is matter of taste. These two amps are Soundstage's favorites in this class (Reviewers Choice).http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/bluecircle_bc26.htm http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/simaudio_w5.htm
Which has a greater effect on music, int.amp or CD? Definitely the amp in my opinion. A warm amp will make all your sources warm, if you ever add a tuner, phono, tape, etc. Getting a warm CD player is really going to limit your choices. I find some CD players called "warm" to be more like "dull". A...
So close yet so far....oh the pain of it all Yes Gregm... That really happened this week. I only paid $6 for it, so it is not the end of the world. However, it is an old recording that is not available on CD, so it is still a loss.If you are familiar with Menahem Pressler, the pianist with t... |
