What's your High End best buy/unknown components?
In my system(s) probably the Music & Sound, and Millersound interconnects. Can I count my Albert Porter cyro'd Hubbel outlets?
6SN7 Plate Voltage
Ed, that is what I am saying. I only put the 6SN7 after the 5692 to denote it as a "6SN7 type" of tube. I did not mean to say there are 275 volt tubes that say 6SN7 on them. Yes there are only 275 volt 5692's...Sorry for any confusion.I think you ...
Down to 3 speakers, and I'am still confused
Did the dealer let you bring your preamp and amp into the store for the demo? Or can they closely duplicate your gear at the store? If not, then ask.
6SN7 Plate Voltage

Electrostatic Speakers/SS amp - what tube preamp?
Gilbert Yeung at Blue Circle loves Martin Logans, and uses a pair of Odessey and a pair of CLS (amount some other brands) to tweek and test his designs. His pair of CLS are pink (a custom job just for him by Martin Logan as a joke). So put his tube ...

Tube Preamp and SS Amps - How?
If you want a look alike pair that are made for each other, then look at the Blue Circle BC21.1 preamp and BC22 MkII amp.The Conrad Johnson PV10 also works well with solid state from my experience.
Tube preamp with cinema bypass??
Blue Circle will add the bypass as an option on most of their preamps. They will probably also add it to one already sold, if you send it in (check with Angela at bcircle@bluecircle.com)
Rel Strata vs. HSU VTF-2
They are both very nice subs. I would definitely give the nod to the REL; but keep in mind that a REL Stratus III cost $1300 for black, and $1500 for wood veneer. The VTF-2 is $495. So the REL should hopefully be better. If you want a new sub and ...
the new Rel Quake
The North American version of the Quake is the Q108E.I've heard it has an MSRP of USD$749.It is very new, so contact Sumiko to check on availability; who your local dealer is; or how to order one if there is no dealer in your area.Their number is ...
Classical CD Guide
If you are interested in the 10th, the Von Karajan/Berlin seems to be at the top of everyone's list. I own it as well and can attest that it is a great performance.Neeme Jarvi/Scottish also gets good marks for his 10th (and 5th mentioned above).
Classical CD Guide
While I don't have that guide......For Shostakovich 5 & 6 you can get them together on a Sony Classical CD with the NYP conducted by Berstein. The number is SMK 47615For the 7th there is a very good live recording with Bernstein conducting the...
Second System: Add DAC to Marantz CD Changer?
For a $500 budget, a DAC will do much more for you than trying to get another CD player. For used, $500 will get you many things, including a Bel Canto DAC-1. I am sure others will have DAC recommendations also. I think a used "Full Nelson" MSB Lin...
HELP Subwoofer connection, high level or low leve
Rap....You may be correct, but it does not make sense to me.In an Dolby or DTS HT situation basically the ".1" in the "5.1" is the bass. The sub is suppose to play this. Now if the sub is doing double duty by playing the ".1" channel and playing t...
