combining amp and receiver for HT What you are doing is fine. Is the HK a Home Theater receiver?? If so, a good sub like a REL would be a great addition. The High Pass connection can be connected to the speaker terminals of the Classe Amp for 2 channel audio, and the low-pass conn...
I need to add a SUB. Please HELP ME A REL is the way to go. As mentioned the High Pass connection that connects to the amp's speaker terminals was designed for audio. The REL's can be adjusted in 2Hz intervals, so it is easy to integrate with any system, speakers and room environment.
Best Pre-Amp w/Throughput for HT ? Some of the high end Conrad Johnson preamps have the throughput for HT built in. I am only familiar with the Solid State PFR which has it, but I believe their are others.
Most annoying Stereo magazine claim I always laugh when I browse a copy of What Hi-Fi Magazine. No component gets worse than 3 stars no matter how bad it is. Most of them get 5 stars, and then there is 5 gold stars which is higher then just 5 stars. Higher than 5 gold stars is 5 sta...
Paul McArtney on Larry King Remember that although Pavarotti cannot read music, he has committed dozens of operas to memory. Can't bring the music on stage. Quite amazing when you think of it. Being able to read music is pointless to an opera singer it they can't memorize th...
Paul McArtney on Larry King Irving Berlin could not read music. Dave Brubeck cannot read music. Pavarotti can not read music. This is not as unusual as you think.
Help with my University Research Project Go to www.vansevers.com and see Mike Vansevers white papers on how dirty power affects sound. If you call him I am pretty sure he would be glad to discuss his ideas with you. He is now making interconnects also.
Best Unknown Jazz Album If anyone decides to look for that Grusin/Sheffield LP, be advised that around 1990 there was a copy made of this album. It was made from a copy of the master and not quite like the original sonically. Still pretty good sounding and nice to listen...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE I have the original B&W CDM-1 in my den/home office system. This is the model that won all the audio awards in the mid 1990s, not the later versions. I think they are much mcuh better than the CDM-1SE and still better than the CDM-1NT (I have ...
Best Unknown Jazz Album Hmmm... Best unknown jazz album. It must me out there somewhere, but nobody knows. I have a 70s Dave Grusin LP I never grow tired of. I am packing to move, so it is wrapped up. I think it is called something like "Wondering Again". It is a Sheffie...
Help with my University Research Project You are walking into a mine field asking for what equipement is better with what cables, etc, etc. Everyone's opinion is different including those who say there is no difference and its all in your head.
Help with my University Research Project You do not have to stop there. The same note sounds different played on a Piano, Violin, Clarinet, Oboe, Guitar, etc, etc. If it didn't sound different, then all musical instruments would sound the same and what would be the point of having differ...
Washington Post Article It is very rare today for me to read any newspaper story, or see a television news program, that comes close to reporting accurately. Now days they form a conclusion first, and then search for, or make up evidence to back it up.I read an editorial...
Quattro Fil vs. Siltech SQ80b Tough question. If I were you I would try to borrow and demo. Every system is a little different. They are both nice cables. I am using the Quattro as a Pre/Power link, but have the Siltech elsewhere.
