b w 602's
If you are looking for bass for dance music, I would consider the DM603 floorstander. Probably not too big for your room.
b w 602's
Some people think the bass on the 602 is a little loose. I think it is fine for the money involved. For the price of a new pair of 602s you could get a used pair of CDM-1, which is a big improvment. I prefer the original CDM-1 over the CDM-1SE. Th...
Adcom GFA 5400
If you are willing to spend another couple hundred, you can send the 5400 to Stan Warren in Oregon, who will make it into a giant killer. Search his name for his phone number on other threads.
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
We can EDIT our posts now, I just noticed. GREAT Agon!!
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
Elizabeth has a good point. My experience is that a lot of things like CD Players, Computers, Etc, break right away if they are going to break, so if you pick up one used that is a couple years old, that has worked fine, it will continue to do so.
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
Extended warranties are a good example of how it is a matter of $$$$. If you are willing to pay more, what is basically an insurance company will guarantee the product for a longer period. I never buy the extended warranties. The very few items I ...
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
I mentioned above how "refurbished" items that are auctioned at placed like Ubid or Egghead/Onsale are usually brand new items on clearance/closeout with the warranty shortened. You can tell the new items usually, because as part of the auction or...
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
I live an hour from Conrad Johnson by car. I once brought my MF2100 amp there because one channel went out. I was the second owner. I provided them with no ownership information, nor did they ask for any. They replaced a couple fuses and did a com...
Is it possible to remote on a tube amp
Conrad Johnson Premier Tube Preamps have remotes, so I assume they work with Tube Amps. Try to eMail CJ or your amps manufacturer to see what they think.
"Pace", it's importance for enjoyment?
I cannot explain digital from a technical stand point, however there are things in the circuit like the "clock" that will certainly affect the Pace if not doing their job well (jitter?).
"Pace", it's importance for enjoyment?
I also find "Pace" is most noticeable with a digital source. This is why we debate cables a lot on Agon, especially digital cables from transport to DAC. The digital signal is just 1's and 0's so you would think any cable would do. However, if the...
Where to buy new B W801/802 cheap?
B&W controls its dealer network very closely, so you may not be able to get a dealer somewhere else to deal with you mail order. They would be encroaching on some other dealer's area. This is why you see no dealers selling new B&W speakers...
Which IC is more important?
Also my REL subwoofer runs off the speaker terminals (high pass filter) so the best Pre/Power link also affects the bass signal picked up by the REL.
Which IC is more important?
I'd say both are important in my experience. If part of the path is weak it will affect the sound. My best IC is between the Preamp and Power Amp for the simple reason that I also have a Tuner, Turntable, Tape Deck and Video Source plugged into th...
brulee fails PC challenge
Explain... You let the FIM settle in and then it sounded good to you. Did you let the Beldon settle in also?? Sounds like you didn't. How does a settled in Belden sound?
