| Vandersteen woofer replacements Gary...the socks should be in place when listening. The speaker are voiced with the socks in place. Yes, there is more highs that come through, but its an affectation. They're your speakers, but people should be cautioned about this. | |
| Are you using anti-skating or not I do not use anti-skate... Not only does my VPI 10.5 sound better with no anti-skate, but if I don't install the anti-skate device, it sounds even better. I also have a Rega that works better with no anti-skate, and the a/s defeated. | |
| What is a B&W 801M? You had better have a amp with very healthy output for these to work well....also, they are very bass heavy. I've seen them working with a Crown 1000 watt amp, and pegging the meters. | |
