B&W 802 N vs. D
I had 802N's, changed to 802D's when I just was too disappointed in my new purchase and told my dealer who gave me an excellent price to upgrade. I was still disappointed...the difference in tweeters and crossover components did little to let the ...
Monoblocks vs Bi-amping
Set it up both ways and compare it for yourself...that's the only way you'll be sure.
How to fix woofer pumping
Sounds like the arm and cartridge do not mate well.
Turntable Speed Using Strobe 33.3
I have an Amertac Model 73068 that I got at Home Depot. It's a fluorescent nightlight that was on sale for about 4 dollars. It plugs directly into the wall. I use an extension cord so that I can get it up to the turntable. When the dots remain sta...
time to change tt's
Check out the VPI Classic.. also, try other brand interconnects and power cable.
grilles on or off the speakers??
Richard Vandersteen says grills should stay in place. The speaker is voiced WITH grills.

Buzzing when VCR connected to TV
Actually, that sounds normal. There is LOTS of RFI coming from your TV. Unless your VCR can reject it, you're doomed. Try separating the VCR from the TV using a very long, and shielded cable.
Now Hear This
I guess you know that NHT is not manufactured anymore...they are out of business. That said....the speakers are pretty good. I have them in my surround sound video system, and they are quite ok.
Can we objectively rate speaker cables?
EEGAds Nasaman.....I get totally different perceptions of the cables. I don't have all of them that you tested, but have a few. I let them burn in again, and listened. For instance..the Kimber sounded warmer than Blue, and slower than Blue. I have...
Separating BiWire Cables
According to Richard Vandersteen, Bi-Wiring is most effective when you use separate cables for the upper and lower connections.
How would you compare these two Vandersteens?
Daverz - that is so odd, because I just was discussing the addition of subs with Richard himself regarding the Quatros and 5A's and he told me that he likes even 4 subs in the system. The subs affect the meds and highs making them even more effort...
