HUM - you can catch fish in a dingy too.
Grimace....I hate to break the news to you, but by using a cheater plug, you are ruining your now hum-free sound. I suggest you find the grounding problem and do it right.
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
Spiriofmusic...I certainly don't wish you evil, but I have been stung too many times with wonderful products that have failed the marketplace...and too I have been greatly supported by Ayre, Vandersteen, VPI, Benz, Sennheiser,....and feel much mor...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
I personally can't understand why anyone would get involved with this turntable. With the likes of VPI, Sota, SME, etc. who will solidly support the owner with a business that is a proven going concern and who will be there for their customers 3 y...
Magnepan Service HORRIBLE???
The way I read this is that the shipping co. accepts liability, and that you are just waiting for Magnepan to open the package and provide a damage report and a cost to repair the speaker. I think it's discraceful if these are the facts as I see t...
Class A amps or Class D??: Which sounds better??
Class D is fine for sub-woofers...lots of power but no finess...Class A has little power but lots of finess
VPI Classic vs Avid Volvere SP
I would not make the move. The Classic is one great turntable
rear firing tweeters....
My Vandersteen 5A's have rear fireing tweeters which provide extra high frequency energy for "problem" rooms...however, it also presents phase problem, so they have an "off" position for most setups.
Lyra Erodion vs Ypsilon MC16 for Lyra Kleos
I agree that unless you get a killer SUT that would bring out the best in low output moving coils (read expensive), then a high output cartridge without the added SUT will ultimately give better sound.
"ANTI-CABLE" SPEAKER CABLE vs Audio Arts SC5?
Remember that all cables sound different depending on to what they are attached. I maintain there is no BEST cable...just the one that sounds best to the listener in his/her own system.
Best way to run in your Cable Elevators?
The best cable elevators are 1 inch cuttings of toilet paper cardboard tubes....and you don't even have to burn them in.
Turntable Recommendation for Beginner
VPI has a new turntable - "the Trveler" that sounds way better then its asking price. You could get a cartridge installed perfectly by the factory and be done except for the listening.
Vintage Power Amp vs new age power amp
Electronic parts (capacitors, resistors, printed circuit boards, etc.) are better as time moves on...there are new materials, or construction techniques, etc. that makes these black boxes perform better. Even though there is excellent older stuff,...
Wilson Sasha Spike adjustment help?
Here's a hint from John at AudioConnection in New Jersey who helped me set up my Vandersteens. I found that using this suggestion greatly increased the focus and 3 dimensionality of my speaker....I presume that it will do the same for yours...... ...
Turntables with warm/smooth mids and highs
If you do get a Linn....make sure that it is set up in your house. If it is set up perfectly in the store, by the time you get it home it will be out of wack.
Don't use this to lube your VPI Classic bearing
I have to agree with Actusreus....I put just a bit on top of the ball of my Classic platter (on a Scoutmast/rim drive) and it's fine.
