Turntable Setup Help; Phillips 777
Hi - You have a Stanton cartridge, which is a very good one.  That brush on the front aids in cleaning and tracking.  What you need to do however is to increase the tracking weight of the cartridge by 1 gram because the brush pushes back at 1 gram...

When I changed tonearms from the VPI 10.5...a very good tonearm, to the 3D, I heard a major improvement.  I would consider the tonearm change.

....make your own.  Use excellent wire and connections ....you'll have better cable for much less money, and the joy of making it yourself.  Get in touch with VHAudio.

They would both be fine.....the Zephyr sounds a bit light to ME...just wondering when you made that comment about the Black that the Zephyr might not hit the right cord either.

When I play my system, or my violin for anyone, I select a piece that they know and already enjoy.  To understand something new in music and to evaluate a stereo system is just too much for most to handle.
