Looking for a entry level audiophile turntable
I would take the time to audition a VPI Scout; I had one for about a year and enjoyed it quite a bit! A very good table for the money!!! You can also find great deals on used Scouts right here on AudiogoN. Set it up on a nice 2" or 4" solid maple ...
The best $10,000 Turntable+Cartridge
Take your time and shop around...I am not sure how much you can believe that is printed on the web, but you may want to audition a TW-Acoustic Raven One... There seems to be mucho favorable press about this table all over the web. Check the Audio ...

I have not personally heard any of these tables, but I am sure you will find fellow philes on AudiogoN that can advise as to the differences between the three decks...My advice is for you to try ANY/ALL tables you are considering at home for a per...
Suggestions for an effective record cleaning kit??
I've never tried the steam cleaning machines; MapleShade carries one but I cannot remember what it costs. I am pretty sure that they have an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee...I use the VPI 16.5 and it seems to work pretty well. I'd go fo...

Own a TW-Acustic Raven One?
If I go with a Raven at some point, I will most likely use my DV 507MKII arm... have you audtioned that arm? However, it may be a bit too 'neutral' overall. I have heard that the Phantom is a little more lively as compared to the 507?thanks

Robn, what did your Raven replace? What arm/cartridge are you using? Over-all, how would you describe the 'sound' you get with your Raven? Also, what is the rest of your rig like?thanks!
Turntable Hummmm
Is your table grounded? Also, you could buy a ground-lift plug and try that...
Is it worth expanding into Vinyl???
A few points to reiterate on all the above (cause some of it is really bull-hockey):If you do not honestly believe that records sound better than CD, then; (1) you should go listen to a modest, well-implemented vinyl rig; compare for yourself, and...
Have the Joe Jackson Look Sharp Album - Any Good?

Have the Joe Jackson Look Sharp Album - Any Good?
Oops... I have the A&M issue, not the 10" version. Will listen today and see how it sounds on my new Aries 3...thanks for the heads-up on Vinyl Lovers issues...

Thanks; I have the original release, both CD and vinyl. The CD sounds terrible. I guess I need to play the album and then decide if I should re-purchase on Vinyl Lovers; doesn't sound too promising though!thanks
Is it worth expanding into Vinyl???
YES!!!Get a entry level Rega or better yet a VPI Scout with a Dynavector 20xl.... Good used Scouts can be had right here on AudiogoN...You will not be sorry! Vinyl has an organic sound, a richness, a dense sound, and a warmth that even very good d...
