Manley Steelhead into Manley NeoClassic 250 monoblocks: dead quiet
What's In Your Tape Cassette Deck Tonight?
Been taping to Sony C60 metal tapes recently. A Dutch pressing of Rush' Caress of Steel and a great US copy, taped to cassette and played back with Dolby C. Wonderful!
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
To address the original thread question, recently I have begun exploring vintage MM cartridges, having been, and continue to be, a fan and owner of Lyra cartridges.Recent enjoyable acquisitions include a Stanton 881S and Shure V15 type iv, both wi...
KRELL KCT preamp. FUSE BLOWN
Replace it with the same value it had originally.
What's wrong with my almost new speakers?
What a waste of time this thread. The poster doesn't even state the speakers in question at the outset but everyone comes stunning like first grade soccer.

How far from the back wall are your speakers?
That's the front wall; the back wall is the one behind your head. Mine are 30 inches from the front wall.
Lp labels that are cool, nostalgic?
Yes, I was going to mention the original Capitol label too. The 70s era Atlantic label has always been a looker too. Apple wasn't bad either, when I first saw the White Album in 1968 I remember thinking how cool. And you knew which side was which ...
Thiel death do we part . . .
People simply don't break in Thiels fully before they judge them and then sell them. And they end up missing the true performance capabilities of them. Jim era speakers need at least a year of frequent playing before they hit their stride and sett...
New Thiel Speakers - Post Jim Thiel Era
Touche Unsound, yeah!
Phono preamp: Sutherland 20/20 or Manley Chinook?
EAR 834P is the warm phono stage you are looking for and save some bux. I had both the Chinook and the EAR (now the Steelhead) and the EAR is tubey and warmer, the Chinook being more detailed and dynamic.
